My name is Melanie and I am pregnant for the second time at age 42. My daughter Scarlett was born June 10, 2025 at 26weeks, 3days gestation. She made it 18 days before she passed away. We are trying again. I am 18 weeks, 3 days today. I am so thankful for finding this group as ive had a hard time connecting with anyone in person. I live in Portland, Oregon!

I'm so sorry you lost a little one last year. đź’” I sincerely hope things continue to go well for you and this baby. It's such a scary and stressful thing to be pregnant (I'm 41 and am 37 weeks currently and still worry all the time). Sending love and hugs and strength for this baby to keep growing. đź’•

Thank you!!! That is why I marked the post sensitive content. I dont want to trigger or worry others! Scarlett's situation was an absolute anomaly. I am so excited for you! 37 weeks?!?!? Yay!!! What are you having?

Oh, wow. I’m so sorry. I had an early loss at 39 before my son at 40, and it was so hard, and then getting pregnant again - I loved being pregnant with him, but I definitely had some scary moments. I cannot imagine how you’ve coped. What an amazing, resilient, & adaptable momma you are.
Sending luck 🍀 & love your way.
I keep seeing posts/tiktoks/instagram reels saying late November babies are being born early like now early and for the last few days my braxton hicks have been terrible. I think I’m also leaking my mucus plug but not sure.

First ever pregnancy the baby was too big, this pregnancy the baby is too small
Last time I got induced and did labour til we reached 10 centimetres but the baby just didn't want to come out,
(at 42 weeks I might add)
so after pushing for so long and 2 doctors later
Emergency C-section it was... On the 25th of May 2025
This time I am hoping for a vbac but they want to induce me at 38weeks this weekend
(so 17 month difference)
because the baby seems to be growing smaller than usual, placenta blah blah blah
Hopefully I can push this baby out or am I being delusional? Lol any thoughts are welcome, I'm based in UK, London

Hey I’m 26 weeks pregnant with my first baby and have been going to the Royal Women’s for my appointments so far, but I have moved recently and now Sandringham is my closest hospital (only a 10 minute drive vs a 30 minute drive to the Women’s). I’m in two minds whether to transfer or not. I have a low risk pregnancy as it stands, but I just want to go to the hospital that will be the best and the best experience. My logic was Royal women may have more competent / skilled staff and can support in any scenario to keep going there. But I’ve also been given advice that Sandringham might be a calmer, more relaxed (less cattle-like) experience of a big hospital and potentially less people in a room post birth. I know being relaxed is so important to a birth experience and perhaps the shorter journey could make a big difference. I would love to hear from mothers who birthed at either regarding their experience (I also hear Sandringham recently switched management so not sure how that’s going). Also any tips on how important the 10 min vs 30 minute drive drive will be when it comes to the big day!
