I’m currently pregnant with baby number 2. First baby was born at 40 + 4 and weighed 8lb 5oz and ended as an emergency section due to infection. I managed to dilate to 4cm before it all went wrong. I was told then baby was “big for me” but my waters went the night before my induction. This time I’m being told the same thing. Babies too “big for me” and they’re encouraging me to have an early induction from 37 weeks or a planned section at 39 weeks. I really want a vbac and apart from being small (5 foot) there’s no medical reason why I shouldn’t be able to birth. This baby is on track for being 8lb 5oz too. Is there any mums out there who are little and had a vaginal birth? I know I can do it but need some encouragement 😅

Hey Lauren...dont stress much about vbac...i think it depends on the dilation n our cervics...I dont think there is anything to do with height.
Mine is 151cms and I had delivered my two babies via Vbac but they wer small 2.3kgs.
However, my sister in law delivered 3.4kgs baby vbac but she is also not very tall.

My colleague is 4ft 9 and had a vbac!

I’m 4ft 10 and my first was 7.1 pounds vaginal birth I was induced at 38 weeks 6 days and I wouldn’t have an induction again unless necessary. Oxytocin made it very painful I had 2 epidurals, the first didn’t work and the second only half worked. He had shoulder dystocia which made it a little complicated and he was in special care a few days but more so for the diabetes check. If you want a VBAC, have it! One thing i realised with my first is exactly how I want it with my second.

In 5ft 2’ small and light by nature. Both mine were born naturally at term and were 9lbs babies.

I’m 5ft1 and had a natural birth!
I think if you have the right mindset you can do it ..
They also get weights of babies before birth wrong all the time !

Thank you all so much! You’ve really helped 🥰 it’s when you have a senior doctor telling you all these terrible things will happen if you go to term and have a vbac but in my gut I just felt I can do it 💪🏼 don’t underestimate a little woman 😘

As my mum always said “we maybe small but we are mighty” she was 4ft 10 too 😆
