When did your autistic kid get their diagnosis?

My oldest will be 3 in May and was diagnosed in February. We are seeing more signs in our 10 month old than we ever saw in him as a baby. We asked for a referral for early intervention for him and they went ahead and sent in a referral for developmental pediatrics as well. They called and scheduled his appointment for right after his first birthday. I was curious about how early everyone is getting diagnosed, my oldest wasn't really obvious until he was about 17 months and we thought it was just speech delay until after he turned two so we were alot later with him.

My son has just turned 4, he was waiting for paediatrician appointment for 18 months. No one helped me when I raised concerns, until I approached his nursery with my concerns, hes had loads of people involved doing observations ect that have been going on for ages, hes finally been reffered for an autism assessment under early intervention, but they wont reffer him for adhd until hes 6
Not really much help as only just joined the long waiting list. But in my area they have changed the way they sort through the wait list. They go by age and how much support the child needs, not how long uve been waiting, so if ur child is young but needs more support u might get an assessment quicker than someone whos older and needs less support whos been waiting a couple years already

Am I overreacting?

My LG goes to nursery 4 days a week (3 half days and 1 full day). We have to provide our own nappies and wipes and were told when they’re running out so we can restock, which is fine.

My issue is, the last few days, my LG has come home in a random nappy from a brand that isn’t hers and she’s started to become sore down there. When my partner brought it up to the baby room manager, her response was ‘oh well, babies are babies, it doesn’t matter and they pull them out the drawers’. For one, the drawers are high up as I’ve seen them so shouldn’t be getting pulled out and 2. If I’m providing nappies, use them because what if the persons nappies being used, can’t afford a lot?

We’ve had no issues with the nursery until this but I wonder if maybe I’m overreacting about it?

Getting jiggy with child about

My partner will try to get jiggy when our 4 year old is around. Ive told him multiple times it is a huge turn off knowing they could run in and catch us but it seems to fall of deaf ears!!!!

Today i went to a cafe and a woman working in the cafe made a comment about my baby - said something like “shes a cheeky one, cries when i look at her”. My baby was crying so much as she looked at my baby so i was trying to console her and couldnt say anything back to her. But i said yes shes uncomfortable and she said “ill keep looking if she cries”. I was so angry that i just couldnt respond and took my baby away and later the woman disappeared.

I feel really guilty and sad about not being able to say anything back to her and not showing my anger in the moment. I also feel like i was not able to protect my baby from that woman although i took her away.

Has anyone had anything like that happen before and how did you manage comments like this?

Naps!

When did you all start dropping to 1 nap?

My daughter is nearly 15 months old, and always fights the first nap ( refusing basically to go down unless we’re out and she’s in the pram)

Her next nap is usually around 3:30-4pm lasting 1 hour 45 minutes, but I wake her up!

I’m thinking off starting to transition her to just 1 nap after lunch time for longer just to trial how she gets on.

Today she has been awake since 1:15pm and hasn’t wanted to nap at all! She’s been busy and occupied, so I’m taking her up for a bath about 6:45, then bed for 7:30-7:45.
