Hi everyone 💕 I’m starting to think about weaning off breastfeeding. I’d love to hear your tips or what worked for you and your baby during the transition.

We were lucky that she had dropped her nighttime feeds by herself, which made life so much easier! So we started with the during the day feeds (of which there were only 2, after naps) and replaced one with a snack, then a week later we did the other one. Then it was the morning one, dad went in with a straw cup of cows milk. That one was harder but she did well! Then she just dropped the last one all by herself haha just went nope I'm done and is now inhaling cows milk instead ❤️ i would say just make sure that you have a lot of support and it is okay if it is difficult ❤️

I weaned off the breast really slowly, so would drop a feed on the breast and do bottle instead. But it’d be slow reductions, as I didn’t want to feel the pain of drying up. And now my little one is 7 months old and she only has bottle and solids (which help to keep her full for longer) but sometimes she will want a little snack of breast in the night - but I only have one boob with milk now that doesnt produce a lot. So soon will stop completely.

won’t take bottle and seems to use me as a pacifier 🥲

If it feels too much could you restrict the time of feeds or for some instances do something to distract? I know my little boy wants boob when I sit down on the sofa with him so that’s something I could distract him from by getting up etc x
