My 12 weeks baby girl was born on the 8th centile for weight (2.7kg), dropped for the 2nd centile in the 1st two weeks. She’s stayed on the 2nd centile for weight ever since. She’s very happy healthy and alert. I just worry about her being so small with a tiny petite (but very cute) face. It’s hard when all I see are these chubby babies! Just looking for some support, do they fill out or look abit chubbier/chunkier later down the line?

Hi Jazz! Honestly don’t worry too much if she’s healthy and happy! My little girl was in the 9th centile when she was born and now at 13th months, she’s in the 50th centile. She’ll be ok :)

My girl was in the 5th when she was born, dropped down to less than one percent, and finally made it back to the 1st percent at her 9 month! For my babies weight to height she’s in the 74% so she’s by no means skinny haha she’s a short chunky girl

My little one never got chunky but was always healthy! Just tiny

My lo started on the 9th and dropped to the 2nd so we stayed under midwife till she got back to birth weight. When she had her 9 month check she'd hit the 50th centerline 😊 now she's 19 months we finally have a double chin and half roles on her legs 😅 . I knew she was going to be small as we were under consultant through the 3rd trimester

Mine was born on 6th, dropped to 3rd, and after a few weeks started to climb centiles FAST, peaking north of 90th around 11 months right before she started walking! Shes levelled out now around 75th. It’s a rollercoaster, and so unique to each kid. However it plays out you will worry, but try not to stress over percentiles too much, I think we’re often way too caught up on them

Hey I wouldnt worry so much as mine was born at 1st percentile and she is almost 9 months now and still in 1st percentile. She is EBF baby and has her solids too but each baby is different. Mine takes longer to gain weight but when she does she will gain 300 gms in just 2 weeks every month. So as long as she is consistently gaining weight and remains active alert and happy all good. Babies can take upto 3 years to catch up naturally i guess
