Asymmetrical IUGR + Car seat trouble

Hi mamas 🤍

I wanted to see if anyone here has experience with asymmetrical IUGR babies. My little one was diagnosed, and I’ve been wondering… when did you start noticing their body even out or fill out more proportionally?

Also, I have a question about car seats. My almost 3 month old has a bigger head compared to his body, and I’ve noticed when he’s in the car seat, his head tends to slump forward a bit. It makes me nervous because it looks like his breathing could be affected, and on our last drive he got really fussy and ended up hysterically crying.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Is this normal for smaller/IUGR babies, or did you have to adjust anything (like inserts, positioning, etc.)?

Any advice or experiences would mean so much 🫶

Pregnancy scans

How often did they scan you once diagnosed?

My baby is measuring under the 3rd centile for weight and under the 5th centile for abdominal circumference and femur length. I am having her this Friday.

I last had a scan two weeks ago on her but I’m really keen to have another one to check her umbilical and placental function.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how often they were offered scans by the NHS in the uk if they were diagnosed with late FGR? We only found out about it at 30 weeks.

Thank you!

Pregnancy scans

Any mums here navigating IUGR or low percentiles early in pregnancy?

My baby is measuring <1st percentile, so I’m having weekly scans due to placental insufficiency (even though they can’t confirm that’s the main and only cause!). They say it’s too early to have these issues as I’m 26 weeks pregnant. It’s been emotionally heavy at times, and I’d love to chat with others who truly understand this journey.

Weaning

Hey!

So my little one is 6 Months old (5 months corrected) (Due to a dip in weight gain we had been advised to start weaning early, Which he have done) We struggled to find a high chair at home for him, but have got that sorted now and he has grown a little taller so is fitting better.

He is having 2 little meals a day and I know the health visitor is going to try up his intake if can tolerate it. We go out a lot and I'm wary about how he will fit in highchairs when out. Any ideas on what I can do so I can feed him out and about in provided high chairs? X
