For those that get checked for dilation.

How bad is it? Like? Does the dr start with one or two fingers? What does it feel like? It’s been 7 years and apparently I can’t for the life of me remember the feeling of being checked. 🤔

I find them super uncomfortable so ask for them to be limited. Like i'm not allowing more than 2 checks. You can have gas and air for them usually though which really helps. From memory I want to say 2 fingers but it doesn't matter how many, they all feel gross 🤣

Personally they gave me a lot of relief I can’t explain it.

Before labor it was a lil uncomfortable literally nothing. During labor absolutely nothing. Over all not painful

I didn’t feel anything during those checks both times before and during Labor.. Only once it felt painful as if knife was cutting through and I assumed maybe because of long nails.. Worth mentioning they always used cloves and gel

They were never uncomfortable for me except my very last one with my baby an it put me into labor that day at 37wks 3 days.

They were the worst part of being pregnant tbh. Even more painful than the I.V they put in my hand

Hospital bag

I’m pretty much packed, I’m just thinking that if I need to stay in for a few days I need to pack more clothes, what actual clothes would I need? Should I just get more button front pyjamas/nighties and then pack my home outfit?

Baby head not engaged

I’m 38w3days and had a midwife appointment this morning where they said her head isn’t fully engaged in the pelvis yet, it’s slightly to the left.. she didn’t seem to think it’s an issue but now I’m panicking a little, is this normal for a FTM at this stage? I’ve been doing so much walking and hip circles/bouncing on ball too!

I told myself that I wouldnt bother having a sweep this time round but I really really really want to avoid induction. Im only 38+4 so still have time... I just cant see myself going into spontaneous labour atm 😟 anyone have any thoughts that could help?

I dont want to hear about positive induction stories as this just isnt a route im willing to go down

Fetal heart rate

I had a private scan at both 7w 4d and again at 9w 4d and the baby heart rate was 147bpm at both scans, everywhere I read peoples babies are a lot higher at this stage so it's got me mega worried, baby was measuring exactly on track and sonographer said it was in normal range but something just isn't sitting right, I know I shouldn't compare but my daughter's was 169bpm at this pointanyone else had anything similar?
