when to change the pram?

my son only turned 3 months yesterday but he is SO nosey. he falls asleep in the car a lot so i tend to just use the car seat instead of the bassinet. but when he wakes up he cries unless i take him out and carry him. and then he’s all up in everyone’s business😂 the seat unit for my pram does say it can be used from birth as it can lie flat, but i was hoping for him to be sitting up by the time i changed him over to that, and a bit bigger- he’s on the 25th centile, 12lbs 13oz as of yesterday. he holds his head up all the time now so i’m slightly less concerned in that sense. what age did everyone change their babies from the bassinet to the seat unit? and if i had him facing me would that be enough for him to still be able to look around, or would he be better off world facing? i’m just mindful that he’s still very young, but i’m a first time mum so i want to know everyone’s experiences and advice!

Hello! We changed our girl around at 4 months, she waaaaay better proffered it but I think the guideline was 5 months

I think I changed mine at about 5 months and she was parent facing for a very long time because she hated it the other way around.

I also changed the pram to parent facing seat at around 4 months. She was happy in the bassinet for about 10 minutes then I'd have to carry her. In the seat she could look around and still see me which seemed to please her. As long as the seat can be reclined and your girl has good head control I'd say give it a try

Changed the seat to parent facing around 5 months when he was sitting independently / had very good neck control - advice is parent facing for a while as they can become overwhelmed world facing and don’t have the choice to turn away, whereas you are obviously their happy place! X

We did something controversial and actually only had a travel pram from birth, so my little boy was forward facing from birth! However, we did use the newborn muffler until he had good head support, which was at 4 months x

Breastfeeding help

I'm struggling to understand how people do this 😭

I'm on day 3 and my nipples feel like they've been cut with glass. I cannot get baby to latch well. I've had advice from midwives and they've helped me multiple times now, and I always manage when they help, but as soon as I'm left to do it myself I just cannot get baby to latch deep enough and its so painful.

I tried expressing so I could still have milk to give baby but I'm not making enough milk yet for that to even be worth it tbh.

She wants to feed every 5 minutes, I can't keep up. My breasts feel empty and soft and she still wants to feed. I know this is because she's making my supply increase but it's constant. I can't do anything else, i can't put her down for anything, not even to go pee.

I have a toddler too and I'm just feeling tremendous amounts of guilt for not being able to even have 5 minutes to cuddle him 😔

How does this get better??? Please help!

Favorite silly/random mom hack?

One of my recent ones: the little plastic containers that some pacifiers are sold in, which are meant for steam sterilizing in the microwave, are the perfect size for a menstrual disc 🙈 what is one thing you’ve found that makes your life the tiniest bit easier/more convenient as a mom?

Nighttime

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Our baby has just turned 5 months and 1 week old. He’s always been great at going to sleep in the evening. We do our usual routine and put him down in the next to me. Even throughout the 4 month regression he went down perfectly. However the past 3 nights he has been hysterically crying when we put him down. We don’t want to pick him up and undo what he’s learnt, but often have had no choice as he’s been so unhappy. Is anyone else experiencing the same or got any advice? 😭

Humping

I’m a SAHM and my son has never been exposed to anything let’s just start there. He is semi- verbal autistic and 2 years old. Whenever he gets sleepy he starts humping. Why? Anyone else?

Formula

My baby is 11 days old, has colic and reflux 🫠😭

He’s currently on Kendamil formula (I had to stop BF for health reasons) and I just don’t think it’s doing a lot for him….

He’s on 120ml at the moment and will happily take this amount but the spit up is constant; even hours after feeding and after being upright for half hour after feeds. He’s a healthy weight and HV is happy with his progress.

He’s on infacol drops as recommended by HV but he’s still really gassy etc.

Would any of you recommend other formulas? Some people are telling me to switch to cow and gate colic others saying aptamil anti reflux 😩

Just wanna make sure if we’re going to switch formulas, that its the right one for him??????? Any recommendations welcome 🤍

Infacol

Thoughts on the use of infacol before feeds please? My baby isn’t great at burping after feeding but also a bit reluctant to give him artificial rubbish to help
