I'm struggling to understand how people do this π
I'm on day 3 and my nipples feel like they've been cut with glass. I cannot get baby to latch well. I've had advice from midwives and they've helped me multiple times now, and I always manage when they help, but as soon as I'm left to do it myself I just cannot get baby to latch deep enough and its so painful.
I tried expressing so I could still have milk to give baby but I'm not making enough milk yet for that to even be worth it tbh.
She wants to feed every 5 minutes, I can't keep up. My breasts feel empty and soft and she still wants to feed. I know this is because she's making my supply increase but it's constant. I can't do anything else, i can't put her down for anything, not even to go pee.
I have a toddler too and I'm just feeling tremendous amounts of guilt for not being able to even have 5 minutes to cuddle him π
How does this get better??? Please help!

Have you been on la leche league? They have some good techniques on there.
I used the flipple technique while I was in the early days. They have some good images and directions.
Also, ask if there's a health visitors feeding team. They were a god send.
Also, 3 days is nothing, remember this is a new skill that you AND your baby are learning so 3 days in is nothing. Yes, BF is a natural thing but it doesn't mean it comes naturally.
Try different techniques and if she's not on properly, de-latch using a little finger in the corner of her mouth and re-latch. Keep going.
Soft boobs do not mean no milk. There is always milk there. Think of it like a river not a lake.
This is typical for 3 days in VERY VERY VERY typical.
