I’m 40 +4 and for two weeks now I’ve had on and off braxton hicks, period cramps and soft stools/diarrhoea. Yesterday I felt so fatigued and was having hot and cold flushes which I read could also be a sign just before labour.
Then last night I woke at 3:30 with non stop cramping and intermittent contractions, to the point I thought it was happening and called my husband back from work (night shift worker). Come this morning, apart from some mild cramping, all has stopped again! It’s driving me mad!
Anyway just needed to rant… maybe there’s someone else in a similar position? Or has been and can tell me baby will be here soon 🥺
I have a midwife appointment today which I’m hoping I’ll be offered a sweep and that it might help get things going.

I was the same almost word by word. You are very close!! I gave birth 40+6, and went through all this

I feel the same! Had all the same things then everything goes off. It's so difficult not knowing what's going on and when. I've had 2 sweeps. Lost a lot of mucus plug and have had a bloody show. Have you? X

Fingers crossed for you!! Just trying to stay as active as possible x

Baby limbo after your due date is so hard! A sweep will be good to ask for as they can check your dilation at the same time ☺️ my first sweep she couldn’t reach my cervix so I chilled out a bit expecting every little twinge to be the real thing 😂 then my second sweep I was 2cm dilated, so feeling a little more on the way! That said, still only had Braxton hicks since the sweep yesterday, 41+3 today 🫠 x

I’m only 38+1 weeks, due 4 May and this has been my experience too.

I’m 40 weeks today and exactly the same 😭😂

40 weeks tomorrow and exactly the same for the last 3 nights in a row. I wake up and feel like I imagined it. My first was a day early so was convinced this baby would be earlier 🥹🙄
