Doctors thought it was uncommon for someone to not go into labor/dilate through the induction process. Has this happened to anyone?

I tried induction for 4 days without dialating at all, i never got past 1cm, opted for a c section in the end.xx

Its very common for dilation to fail. You have to be 'ripe' for the methods to help.

I was talked into an induction and didn't dialate past 3 cm after 3 days, so I requested a c section.
Far from the natural water birth at the birth centre I was planning but baby arrived safe which is what's important.

Yes very common, had one myself and know other people who have had it happen

I was induced and never dilated past 2cm but my contractions were ready to go. Ended up having an emergency c section as little one became distressed and her heart rate plummeted. But she arrived safe and well

Yes it happened to me. Started induction on the Thursday. Stopped it on the Saturday. Both methods had failed. Sunday moved to a c section
