Post Partum Depression

I’m 32 weeks, and I’ve been struggling with on and off prenatal anxiety and depression. It makes me super worried about post partum, does anyone have any advice on how to prevent or reduce the symptoms?

Hey. You’ve got this. My advice is to fill your weeks. Try to get out of the house every day, go to baby classes 2-4 times a week, see family and/of friends. Try to make other mum friends. Keep busy. They say the days are long but the weeks are short. I fully agree with this… some days are harder, but most are good, with a structured day it helps.

And, most importantly, be kind to yourself. You will have just carried a baby for 9ish months. You will have just given birth (regardless of how baby actually comes out). You will be exhausted and barely remember to feed yourself and what even is a shower?! It’s okay to let the housework slip a bit.

Best piece of advice: enjoy the time with your baby, for it won’t last long, in the grand scheme of things.

Give yourself grace, and don’t try to power through! Ask for help if you need it and take all the help you are offered. Rest, nourish your body and get outside everyday.
You will be fine, take it easy and trust is yourself ❤️

when to change the pram?

my son only turned 3 months yesterday but he is SO nosey. he falls asleep in the car a lot so i tend to just use the car seat instead of the bassinet. but when he wakes up he cries unless i take him out and carry him. and then he’s all up in everyone’s business😂 the seat unit for my pram does say it can be used from birth as it can lie flat, but i was hoping for him to be sitting up by the time i changed him over to that, and a bit bigger- he’s on the 25th centile, 12lbs 13oz as of yesterday. he holds his head up all the time now so i’m slightly less concerned in that sense. what age did everyone change their babies from the bassinet to the seat unit? and if i had him facing me would that be enough for him to still be able to look around, or would he be better off world facing? i’m just mindful that he’s still very young, but i’m a first time mum so i want to know everyone’s experiences and advice!

Was the nursery carer wrong for saying this?

My baby is starting nursery (she’s 13 months). Today was her first settling in hour. My baby has CMPA and we are working on introducing dairy to her with a dietician. For now she can’t have cows milk. She’s still breastfed. They said she can have oatmilk with breakfast and I’m happy with this as we do this at home too. However they also offer them milk to drink and I said I’m happy to provide breastmilk. The manager emailed me about it earlier and said it’s fine as long as it’s clearly labeled. The nursery worker seemed not keen and said she can drink oat milk and she can have breastmilk at home. Is it just me or was that comment wrong?

How beautiful must be

To have a baby that at 21 months sleeps nicely through the night and wakes up at a decent time (7am would be already a good time)?
I cannot stop thinking how being it must be for the parents of those babies who are now finally sleeping through the night and not waking up before 6am.

I’m so so done with the night awakenings and early rise and a grumpy baby since the time he opens his eyes
