First period

Hey!

I’m 8 weeks post–C-section, and my first period just started yesterday (yaaay 😭). However, I’m a bit concerned because the flow is very heavy, and I’m passing quite large blood clots. I feel fine otherwise—no cramps or typical period symptoms—just the heavy flow and larger clots.

Has anyone experienced an extremely heavy first period after giving birth?

Clot wise id say speak to gp just incase as sometimes placenta can be left inside not saying thats the case with you but id say get checked incase

The first Period after pregnancy be heavier then before but id definitely speak to ur GP about the clots. I started mine 2 days ago. Its heavier but theres no clots

I’m about to be 8 weeks and I’m experiencing this exact same thing but it’s slowly getting lighter, gotta love periods! 🫩

Gestational diabetes

Hi everyone!

I’m feeling so down at the minute. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 25 weeks, so now 5 weeks. I’ve trialed metformin and could only stomach 2 tablets but my fasting levels were still to high so they introduced insulin too. I’m now on 18 units and it’s still out of range!!

I know it’s not what I’m eating because my after meals are all within range it’s literally just my fasting, but it’s so frustrating.

What insulin levels do you take before your fasting levels settled? Just feel so guilty that it’s passing to my baby x
