Yeah i did didnt know at the time I shouldn't it was fine the midwife said to me if it was already part of your regular diet its fine its like like if you never eat probs dont whilst pregnant

Yes! The only thing I’ve really avoided is raw fish on sushi as I’m in the midlands and know raw fish isn’t as fresh as it could be. If I was on the coast and could access excellent quality raw fish, I’d deffo be eating sushi still.
It’s part of my diet normally and I crave a rare bloody steak nearly every day, I won’t deprive myself of something my body desperately craves (with boundaries like a shot of tequila of course!)

It's only really an issue if the animal was maybe infected or in bad conditions like toxoplasmosis I believe so as long as you don't have food poisoning you should be fine for a one off!

I aimed for medium the other day and ended up having it medium-rare. No regrets. My midwife also told me raw fish is okay if it’s been frozen… I’m not 100% sure I believe her but I’m having a defrosted smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel the minute I’m out the first trimester.

You should read Emily Oster - she’s an economist that breaks down the research and data behind these types of things. Eg eating sushi and rare steak and in a lot instances you’ll find that the risk is very small
