Hello!! So im 25 weeks pregnant and I already haved gained 23lbs, which my doctor suggested to go on a diet and watch out for what I eat. I am in the heavy side. When I got pregnant I was 225lbs. I know I was overweight, but I had always weight heavy due to muscle and bone weight plus im tall. I went through a tough time in my life which lead to depression and anxiety, that caused my to gained weight rapidly. Anyway, I have been in a diet ( gestational diabetes diet) that consists on high protein/ low carb diet. I have been exercising plus I work on my feet for 8hrs constantly moving and I weight my self today thinking that I would loose at lease 5 pound and nothing I gained 1 pound more which make me sad. I dont know what else to do. My OB say that I have a big baby, but she is afraid that I would have GD and if im have a bigger bmi that I would have a high risk pregnancy. Im scared

I believe that unless theres something going on with the baby, that the baby is simply making the room it needs too. My mom tells me all the time she gained over 60lbs with me, but I came out a 6lb baby. Every pregnancy is different and drs always seem to just jump straight to weight gain over anything. Even if youre already doing everything youre supposed to. As long as there isn't anything going on with the LO, and youre doing youre best then thats what matters most.

I gained 57 pounds. Baby was 7 pounds 14 ounces. I was doing 5 mile walks every day until the last 6 weeks. Some of us just gain alot.

I’m almost 31 weeks and I’ve gained 50 lbs. I know it can be challenging but trust your body. It’s doing its best to help baby grow. I’d say as long as you are being intentional with eating habits and movement and everything seems healthy with baby so far, don’t overthink it. Even if you do have GD you can still have a healthy pregnancy and birth (my sister had it). But until then, try your best not to stress. I know it’s easier said than done, trust me I go through ups and downs with it too but know you’re not alone and every body is different 🩷
