Emergency c section

I had my little boy last week - I was so desperate to have everything as natural as possible - my waters broke in the morning I went back to bed and tried to get some sleep - when I woke up the waters were a horrible colour so went to the hospital where it was confirmed there was meconium in them, so I was then induced to get me going on an oxytocin drip - I didn’t want pain relief just a water birth so I did 18 hours on an oxy drip just with gas and air, I got to 10cm dilated and started pushing etc after being in the pool, I then was told there was a bit of my cervix in the way and they couldn’t get him over it, by this point I was so drained and just couldn’t take anymore! It then just went on for so long I started panicking about why he wasn’t coming I was given the option for an emergency section but it was a big risk because of how long my labour had been going on. I had the section and everything was fine in the end but both me and my partner feel like it was so traumatic and just not how we wanted or expected it to go - I now keep going over and over it and how disassociated I felt with my baby to start with 🥺😢

I also ended up having an emergency caesarean as my baby was breach and diagonal when I went to push. See if your hospital has something called 'birth afterthoughts'. It's recommended for after the 6 weeks period pp but had no time limit on it and is a service where they go over every aspect of your birth with you, answer any questions, and help you to process. My partner and I fully intend to utilise this service when we are ready as there was so much that happened that we couldn't process in the moment, especially for myself. I hope this helps and good luck with your recovery. Enjoy baby and try to allow yourself time to process and grace to experience all the emotions that come with that

My baby is 9 weeks old and I ended up with an emergency section on the Monday morning after being induced Friday with the pessary and then i had 2 bags of the oxy drip but not dilating past 2cm, I’ve not had my birth debrief yet as I’m not ready to process the information as things took a turn in surgery and i ended up in theatre for 3 hours, all i know is i lost a lot of blood. But i recommend getting the debrief with your partner as my mum was in there with me and is attending the debrief for me so she can have her questions answered and she can process what she seen and what she heard and she can tell me in the future when I’m ready to know. I didn’t have skin to skin until i was in recovery and felt exactly like you to begin with because i was out of it in theatre but just focus on now with your baby (i did an hour skin to skin for 3 weeks to build the bond with my baby when i came home which really helped) and hopefully you’ll have a speedy recovery x

Out of breath

I’m 31 weeks FTM, is it normal to be so out of breath when talking and doing everyday stuff? Don’t want to call maternity if it’s not something to stress about.
Thank you x

Doppler heartbeat

Hello I’m 18 weeks pregnant. Went into triage for reduced movement and they couldn’t find baby’s heartbeat. Did a scan and baby was fine, sitting comfortably and heartbeat nice and strong.
But my mind is racing as to why the Doppler never picked it up?!

I’m 35 weeks tomorrow, for the last two mornings I’ve woken up with the worst headache, but horrific aches and pains.
My whole body aches like I’ve gone ten round with a bag of bricks! Any one else? 😫

Very active baby

Hey all, I’m 39 weeks today and last night she was sooo active, moving so much and kicking and punching, it kept me awake from 10-1am. I know they say to only worry about reduced movement but should I be concerned or has anyone else had this so close to due date? She’s moving normally again this morning so far..
