My midwife swaddled my baby at the hospital, so it must be different everywhere - just do what feels right for you 😊
We're using tommee tippee and love to dream swaddle sleeping bags. Baby seems to sleep much better that way. During the day I just let her sleep without or I'll swaddle with a blanket if unsettled xx

My midwife actually encouraged me to swaddle my baby, sometimes I swaddle him sometimes I don't it depends on how fussy he's being and if he goes down straight away which alot of the time he does.
It really confused me as she said just out a blanket over him and tuck it in the bottom!

My baby hates being swaddled. I use a sleeping bag though (with arms out). It's not warm enough in my room yet to not use anything. My 1st was born in a summer heatwave so was only in a vest for first 2 months.

Like Shazza above, sometimes I swaddle, sometimes not. This will only be during daytime naps. First week of being home he would settle in his next to me at bedtime and through the night, with a blanket tucked into bottom and sides of his arms under mattress, but more recently we've been co-sleeping and just figuring out what's comfortable.
I wish I knew sooner that newborns can side lay while breastfeeding laid down 🥲.
When I swaddle, I use a stretchy blanket, I don't know why the supermarket TommeeTippee wrap things never agreed with my children 🙃x
