Where do you put baby to sleep during day?

Where do you put baby to sleep during the day? In your living room or in another room? Do you darken the room during the day while they sleep? Do they already have a sleeping routine during the day ? (8 weeks old)

In my arms 🙃😢

I try to do bright and loud so that he's use to sleeping anywhere. Especially when we start doing long days out. I know of some babies who nap in dark and quiet environments that cannot sleep anywhere else.

Cot at home day and night. He sleeps in the pram when we are out

We have a moses basket that she sleeps in throughout the day if she isn't sleeping on us. She sleeps fine with noise and brightness xx

My baby started becoming more awake during the day at this stage, but still napping. I just interact with her as long as she’ll tolerate and get her off to sleep when I notice she gets tired.
I have her in the living room, and keep it bright and with noise, as you normally would.
Now she sleeps longer stretches at night, so I would say although they probably don’t have a good sense of day/night, a routine could start to form now but they’re still so little.

Baby should be in the same as you for all sleep until at least 6 months ◡̈
as a newborn she just slept on my chest wherever I was so usually the sofa, and I’ve never made an effort to darken or quieten any room and now at 3 years old she can sleep in broad daylight and in the middle of a pantomime 😆

I baby-wear even when baby sleeps, I think it’s important to expose baby to noise and light so they can sleep wherever you are, not under certain specific conditions (dark room with dim/dark light). That said, I do usually slow down when baby’s asleep: read a book or watch a movie or eat some food ☺️

Our first was in his bassinet pram in the living room with us during the day, we tried to go about our day as normal to keep him used to noise and thats our plan with our second too.

My baby is 2 months old and when she sleeps I put her on her feeding pillow and let her sleep on the couch next to me

Contrary to comments above, my first born who is now 3 always slept in a dark room with white noise for naps as well and it gave me hours of free time during the day as he slept better under those circumstances. It was never an issue for him to sleep elsewhere whether loud or bright because he just simply knew that we aren’t home. However, for my 10 week old I’m keeping it bright and noisy simply because I need them both in the same room with me. It’s just for convenience, otherwise I’d put my newborn in a dark room too and enjoy longer naps x

Elective C Section and Breastfeeding

Hi girls

My c section is booked next week and I'm excited and terrified in equal measures!!

Please can you give me your top tips for helping your milk supply along. Ive tried pumping colostrum at 37 and 38 weeks and just getting little trickles, nothing worth collecting. I've heard breastfeeding feeding is harder after an elective section.

Any advice would be amazing! Xx

9 week old sleeping through the night

For the past 2 nights my baby has slept through the night 😱
Yesterday she lasted 7h since the last feed until she woke up asking for food and today it's been 8h.
She got her jabs on Wednesday and she's been eating a little bit less (normally 730-820ml per day and for the past 4 days only about 700ml). Should I be concerned? She's otherwise very good, plenty of wet nappies and super alert when awake. I still feed her the same amount of times, just offering it more frequently

Breastfeeding with piercings?

I am 34 weeks along and my midwife told me if I want to breastfeed I should take my piercings out now, but when I had a home visit with a nurse she said I shouldnt have to take them out except when feeding or pumping. So I am just curious if there are any moms who have their nipples pierced who have been either breastfeeding or pumping and what's been your experience so far?
Editing to add: I don't mean I want to leave the piercings in while I'm breastfeeding or pumping. I mean taking them out while doing so but putting them back in after.

Just sharing

I have an almost 9 week old baby, and she never slept independently since day 1. I tried putting her on her crib for nap times during the day but not even 20 mins and she is going to wake up, same at night. She will just sleep if she is in her carrier, or we are in bed but I should be beside her. I feel like I’m doing something wrong.

Does your partner stay awake ridiculous hours on the weekend knowing he’s already tired?

My partner continues to complain about being tired but constantly goes to bed after 11 weekdays and usually after 1 am on weekends, which means he never wakes up for our kids on the weekend I’m always up with them even if that is after I’ve had a night out. Is this normal or
