Firstly I’m not a big screen fan and limit it, but being a single mum with no village there’s times she has it for short stints so I can safely get something done like go up to the loft without her trying to follow me or feeding the dogs, cleaning that she can’t help with safely.
So please can no screen parents not come at me when I’m already feeling pretty crap today already🤦🏼♀️
For those who’s little ones watched or do watch Peppa Pig. Have you noticed your little one mentioned being shy, scared of things. More the scared comment like this??
When I used Peppa pig so could sort her medication out (which is helpful time she watches something to stop her itching and I can get her cream on without her wanting to help and it be allover the place. I was hearing it in the background and now I know where she’s got this “scary, that’s scary, I’m scared scared” talk from. Because she wasn’t going on about all that before. And there I hear it, on Peppa pig. And I checked. One of the little characters says this often - basically in I’d say every episode there’s a reference to being scared of something or other.
She never mentioned it before, she’s not an ‘I’m scared of stuff’ child generally, or wasn’t, but it’s ramped up and now she says it so often.
So peeved this show has rubbed off on her with this darn expression 🙄, currently looking at books to talk to her about what’s scary and what’s not etc to try and get rid of it being her go to expression she’s picked up off there.
She had picked up some good other knowledge of things from the show before this so I let her watch it when given the choice of what she could watch during those times. I hate the show tbh. But she’s grown out of loving miss Apple (uk version of miss rachael), or miss rachael. She saw peppa pig somewhere with someone and then suddenly it was the number one request for the minimal times she has screen watching time. And now this darn scary this scary that.
I hate the show and want to gradually get her off it, putting that plan in action right now 😅. But just wondering if others have found their kid picked up this expression from it like that

Ugh peppa pig is the worst, my mother in law introduced it to my toddler and she repeats everything from that stupid show 😂.
You could try low stimulation shows like puffin rock or Sarah & duck. We let my toddler watch bing and there was an episode where bing was scared to go to bed or something to do with monsters and she refused to go to bed because she said there was monsters in her room 🫠.
