Supplements

Hi all! I’m currently taking 5 weeks pregnant and I’m taking folic acid every day and have been before I was pregnant. I’m just wondering if I need to be taking anything else?

I’m a little worried as I found out I was pregnant recently and I’ve been having A LOT of caffeine and a few alcohol drinks. I’m now obviously not drinking and only drinking 1-2 cups of decaf a day starting tomorrow. Does anyone know if I need to be concerned or what other supplements I should be taking? All advice is welcome 🫶🏼💓

Vitamin D is also recommended. You can get one of the multivits like Prgnacare but it’s really not necessary. When you have your booking appointment with midwife they may recommend other things bespoke to you.

Don’t worry about the caffeine and alcohol! You’re here now and ready to take care of you growing bub. I’ve heard (I am NOT a medical professional though!) that for the first 6 weeks the baby isn’t affected anyway. It put my mind at ease ☺️

A prenatal vitamin is typically recommended, one that includes folate (you should take folate, the active form, rather than folic acid if possible, as some women have a gene variant that makes it difficult to convert folic acid into the active form). A prenatal will cover more or less everything you might need.

For the caffiene and alcohol, try not to worry, as stress isn't good for baby either. What's done is done, just avoid alcohol and limit caffiene for the rest of your pregnancy (you can have about 200 mg or roughly 2 cups of coffee per day, and be aware of other things like chocolate and tea that can contain caffiene), and do the best you can to eat well.

Cash surveys

Hello all
Does anyone have any genuinely good survey sites where you make pocket money? I'm finding i need an extra fiver here and there but my budget is so tight already.
Something that genuinely works please. I do Yougov but it takes almost a whole year to get the £50 voucher! I do have a lot of spare time to do these
TIA x

Looking for a bestie 💚

Near or far. I am looking for someone who likes gossip, wants to trauma dump, and talk about partners and motherhood. Judgment free!!!
If you're from Massachusetts/new hampshire and coffee dates, bookstores, plant shops,or parks/zoo are your thing. Hit me up!

Does anyone else get quite lonely being a SAHM?

As much as I love spending time with my son, I miss having conversations with people. Unfortunately my other friends are too busy to speak, and I don't speak to my family as much as I would like to as there is always drama. But day in day out I am at home with my boy and my only interaction sometimes is my partner when he comes home. It's really starting to get to me now especially since I'm 17 weeks pregnant with our second child. Would love to make some new friends who I can get along and have a cuppa' with...if you feel the same please say hi..🙈
