Big baby boy!👶🏽🩵

So today I went to my midwives appointment and I’m currently 33 weeks and 6 days pregnant. Last time I had my appointment was the 13th April 2026 and my stomach was measured to be 29cm. Today 1st May, I was measured at 36cm. My midwife was shocked and said that it’s grown 7cm in the span of 2.5 weeks and had to re measure it 3 times to make sure. She asked if it felt heavier which I do ofc. She booked me in with an ultrasound scan to see the baby’s actually growth.
I remember my 2nd ultrasound scan at 20 weeks the lady said that my baby was on the bigger end.

Has anyone experienced this before? Do they induce you or tell you to get a c section? I’m so scared!!

Here is an article for inducing with big babies. Not only that but it shows studies that weighing by ultrasound has a 15% margin both ways so its not entirely accurate. I also think term "big" when describing an unborn baby is so scary! They told me my baby is also on the bigger side (90%) but I feel a lot better after reading this. And I choose c-section over induction but ultimately I will be waiting it out.

they won’t induce you before 37 weeks usually just for the reason of “ big baby” scans are also not accurate! but at the end of the day it’s up to you how you want to deliver your baby, and remember you are allowed to say no to an induction

I was told my son was a big baby and would need an induction early. 4 failed inductions and an emergency section later, my 6lb 3oz TINY baby arrived 🫠

I was induced 39 weeks with both of my babies due to being big (they won’t do it any earlier unless you have gestational diabetes etc) the scans can be wrong but my son was predicted 8lb 13 and was 9lb 7 x

Ultra sounds can definitely be wrong with regard to weight, but with both my kids they were spot on. I had my son in August last year and was going for growth scans and on my due date they were concerned at the scan showing how big he was (I was massive to be fair). They offered me an induction the next day or an elective c section. They definitely were pushing the induction though. I went with the section though because my daughter was 8lb 8oz and it was really tough to get her out. I had my section 4 days later and he was 9lb 15oz so I was so glad I did it.
Just do what feels right for you. However I think if he’d have been my first and I hadn’t have the experience before, I would have had an induction. I just knew my body.

I was having growth scans as little boy was measuring big since 20 weeks and was off the chart so around 115 centile 😂👌🏼
Growth scan at 36+5 weeks said he was 9lb, and had been putting on a pound a week per the scans. No gestational diabetes or anything. And I had actually lost weight in my pregnancy.
So they induced me at 37 weeks so 2 days later. Lots of people said the scan would be wrong and they scare us into it and not to accept induction as he’d be smaller than they say ect ect and they absolutely can be wrong because it isn’t the most accurate way but it’s the only way of measuring.
However he ended up born via c section as my body just wasn’t ready to give birth and couldn’t dilate past 6cm after 16 hours on the drip, and he was indeed 9lb1 3 weeks early 😂🩵
He had jaundice bad due to being early so we ended up staying in for a week. So that’s the only thing I’d be cautious of if they offer early induction. I could’ve had a c section at 38-39 weeks but I didn’t want one 😂

I was induced at 37 weeks for big baby and no gestational diabetes after multiple tests. He was 9lb1 at 37 weeks. X
