4 month sleep advice!

I need 4 month baby sleep advice!
Chat gpt says one thing, an app says another. My baby is 4 months 2 weeks and feels like his sleep has been rubbish for like 5-6 weeks now. I did think yesterday maybe his day naps are too short, he’s had three short naps today (30 mins each x 3)
An app I have is saying he should have another short nap (6.38pm) but Chat gpt is saying an early bed time. He can normally go down between 6.00/7.45 depending on the day after a bath and feed but he wakes so much during the night.
The app is saying they need like 3 hours day time sleep then 10 nighttime, But he just seems to wake every 1.5-2 hours and only thing to settle is the boob. I try dummy and hand on chest first, sometimes works, most time doesn’t, same with a cuddle and rocking. Boob quietens him but half the time it’s soothing rather than feed. I unlatch him and let him sleep on me for about 15 minutes so it’s safe to transfer him without waking, also sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t. I don’t know what the right thing is to do. Feel like I’m losing my mind lol

The reason why it's variable between advice is because there's no right answer, it's all trial and error for your bub specifically. Some things will work, some things won't, as it's so dependent on sleep needs, temperament and if there's a growth spurt or a mental leap going on.

My two little ones with the same setup and both formula fed, one never slept and couldn't be out down eyes would open on every transfer then scream and the other can be put in happily awake but sleepy and will just chill until she nods off.

He had a long nap in the day and two short and then every two hours through the night regardless of what I did. She, had 3-4 x 30min naps want to go up to bed around 6.15-6.45 tells us when and then is asleep within 30 mins with one or two wake ups max!

Honestly with my first I was searching for a silver bullet/answer and nothing worked. I found accepting and following his queues was all I could do to not drive myself mad!

Sorry it's tough mumma, but you're not doing anything wrong. Xxx

Also the fourth mental leap can be really tricky if that's at play x

So sleep needs actually drop around 4 months by about two hours so I would calculate your babies average sleep needs and go from there! It could be you are trying to get the same amount of sleep out of him when he doesn’t actually need it!

Cat naps at this age are super normal so don’t panic about them x

Going out during one and only nap

How do you do it?! I took my daughter out this morning and she fell asleep for 15 mins in the buggy at about 11am, and has been resisting her main nap today. Do you keep babies in the house in the morning to avoid this occurring? How do you do it?

REALLY STRUGGLING WITH NIGHT FEEDING

My baby is 3 days old today and since last night it’s been like every drop of breast milk I’ve given her has been empty calories. I was up feeding her pretty much constantly (only intervals were when she got too upset) from around 12 until half 3, then we fell asleep and we woke up at half 6 and she hasn’t been able to be away from my nipple since. I just caved and gave her a dummy for the first time just to soothe her for a bit. I don’t know what’s wrong - her latch is great, I can hear her swallowing the milk, she fed well thoughout the day the day before. It’s suddenly like she’s using more calories to get the milk out than she gets from drinking - like the more she drinks the thirstier she gets. I don’t know what to do I almost called 111 last night and will if it carries on today. I’ve got a health visitor coming back today anyway but I’m so worried there’s something deeper wrong, I swear I can already hear her screaming “mum” while she cries, it’s so upsetting. Anyone been through similar or know something I don’t?

HELP! Mums that have got through the carrier stage…

My daughter is 3.5 months and sleeps well overnight but won’t go anywhere during the day for a nap except the carrier. Great because I can be on the go and I know she will sleep for up to two hours in there, but I’m starting to feel quite claustrophobic which zero time to myself.

How have people in a similar boat managed this please? If I put her in the pram and walk, she will sometimes scream for the entire thing (up to an hour) regardless of how many times I pick her up and put her down. It can be soul destroying. Occasionally she will go to sleep but I absolutely can’t rely on it as it’s maybe one in 10 times.

Any help on how to tackle v appreciated. If I could get to one pram or cot nap a day I’d be so happy! Thanks for reading x

Feeding to sleep

My LO is 10 months old and I’ve recently read that when they turn 1 you should stop feeding your baby to sleep. Has anyone ever heard of this or has stopped feeding their baby to sleep? Any advice would be appreciated. Sorry if I seem clueless but FTM and still learning even after 10 months!

AnE ??

Maybe I’m over panicking here - all day my son (3) has thrown up, if he ate (toast) he throws up, even without stomach contents he’s throwing up, has water, he throws up - he hasn’t weed since 9am when he did a poop. He’s very tired - this is a AnE trip right or am I overreacting ?

I’m already packing a bag as I write this but…am I being a panicked mum here
