Question for mums of 2x

Ive got a 2yr old and a newborn (1x week old)

Interested to hear from other mums if you had kids with a similar age gap, what did you find the hardest or most challenging?

Just trying to mentally prepare myself for what could come.

Right now my fears are keeping up routines on my own when hubby goes back to work as I ebf and no idea how im going to be able to do it 😬

I have a 2 year old and 13 week old. I can’t give any words of wisdom for the future as it’s all still pretty new to me, but I can say once your husband goes back to work you will be fine. I was dreading it and with also EBF I thought I would have no time for my toddler but it does get easier and you will find a nice little routine. Surprisingly I find getting out the house easy and it makes the days not as long.

Find things to do that you can do with your toddler whilst also BF. We do playdoh, the park when the baby naps, playgroups that’s are small so my toddler can wander off but I can still see her, reading, puzzles. It’s not as scary as it seems I promise 😊

Is this true?

There was a post I read which I can’t get out of my mind. I have a son and a daughter (both under 2). It basically said how daughters become a reflection of us, they are a mirror back at us showing us the good and bad and making us reflect. The same with sons and their fathers eventually.

My marriage has been a wreck since we had kids, constant bickering and disrespect. There are good parts. Would I want my daughter to be who I am now? Someone who accepts being spoken to like this? I used to be a very strong, loud, proud and extroverted person. I would love for her to be like be like the person I was 5 years ago. However, now I feel silenced in my home, allowing myself to be disrespected. I can’t say all of the changes are due to my husband, maybe motherhood too.

I can’t stop thinking, would I want my son to treat his future wife how I am being treated? No. Would I want my daughter accepting being spoken to this way? No.

He is a good dad in many other ways, he does provide, plays with them, helps with bedtime routine etc. but we are failing to model a good relationship. I dont think he likes me anymore, let alone love. I’ve brought up therapy many times but he will never agree.

Maybe it’s best to be apart? I don’t know what messes up kids less.

C-section Mama, loosing baby weight.

Hi Mamas.
So I’m 3 months postpartum after having an emergency c-section. I’m exclusively breastfeeding, therefore I’m not on any diet to make sure I keep my milk supply coming.
I JUST fully healed and I feel ready to start working out to get my body back but idk where to start or what to do.
Also, I had a big pregnancy belly, so now my belly is kinda folded into itself and I desperately want it gone 😅.
But most importantly, I need to find a sweet spot between keeping my milk supply the same and losing weight/getting fit.
I need advice!

Lip tie

Hey everyone! My son Arlo is 13 months, I'm a little bit worried he has a lip tie... doesn't seem to be in any distress or discomfort with it, what do you think?

Do you think sometimes parents expect too much out of a toddler?

A lot of times I see posts and sometimes they come off as they want their toddlers to have Boarding School behaviour or 5* eating habits and robot emotions. The moment they don't, then you see people comment to "whoop them" or therapy or label them as monsters etc. It's frustrating as adults when we are learning something new, so imagine what it's like for toddlers learning EVERYTHING new from their emotions to the world to walking, talking, eating, being independent. In my opinion sometimes there are too many expectations put on toddlers, I mean I trained pretty untrainable adults but I never said I hated them, obviously never wanted to smack them or tell them they needed therapy.

Night sleeping

I have an almost 3 month old and she is already sleeping through the night. Should I still be waking her at least once to feed just so she can get more ounces? She is formula fed. 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm. All feeds are 5-6 oz depending on how hungry she is.
