Delayed at two year check

What happens if your child flags up as delayed at their two year check?

We have ours on thursday and i know my little one is delayed. I have reached out to the HV on numerous occasions since he was 14 months old and just got told we would have an early one and he finally got one at 26 months.

If he is delayed just like mine they will check in after 3 months and then re do the assessments again and from there they will decide what help he needs so for my son if speech and language and a hearing test and possibly early year Sen

My son had a speech delay and was supported through speech therapy so I guess it depends what sort of delay but I’m sure you’ll just get support and pointed into the right direction for materials to help support between the sessions/ waiting to join sessions

Fabulous to hear that you're aware of delays with your child and that you have had an open conversation with your HV. They will review the questions and then put recommendations into place to help you and your child. They will always be there to help if you have any questions down the road too.
All the very best to you ❤️

My daughter (3yo) just woke up terrified at 4:30am...

She got out of bed screaming, me and my partner went in her room and she was terrified saying something was in her bed. I looked and she peed her bed so I assumed it was just that. She refused to get back in bed she was literally shaking she was so scared... I brought her in my room and she did the same thing when I tried to put the blanket on... She won't let me put her down at all... I had to ask my partner to call off work because I also have an 8mo...she keeps saying it's a wormy and wormy bit her on the leg. Theres no bite, I thought maybe a snake got in but I dont see anything in her room... She is just so scared and I don't know what to do... Everytime I out her on my bed she creeks out... And even when we hold her occasionally she still freaks out saying the wormy is back... I don't know what scare dher but it scared her good...

Contact Naps

When did your baby stop contact napping? My son is 21 weeks old and still only contact naps. He won’t go down for a nap at all. He sleeps in his next to me at bedtime but not during the day he wakes up straight away.

Was anyone else’s baby the same? What did you do to change it? I don’t mind the contact naps at all I love that he only sleeps on me. However I’m sick of not being able to get anything done during the day when I’m on my own.

Dripping milk

Very early postpartum - what do people do about dripping milk? I don't want to wear bras because of engorgement.
My shirts are constantly soaked. Currently just carrying around a towel underneath

Sleep regression hell

This is actually impossible. She just wouldn’t sleep last night, like the whole night 🫣 she had to be held but still woke up every 10 minutes or less for the entire night. She won’t go in the pram for a nap (we’ve never cracked a cot nap) so is in the carrier but has been shouting at me for an hour. I am SO overstimulated and touched out and it’s not even midday 🙃 how long did your regression last if you’re out the other side please xx

Calpol

How are you administering calpol for the jabs without them spitting it out? The syringe is massive and the dose is 2.5ml!
