41.3 weeks—Well, going to hospital now to be induced. Was trying to avoid induction but baby isn’t moving as much as he was the day before yesterday and my body and mind is so tired I don’t feel like I can wait any longer. I got a sweep on Monday and it didn’t really work. Although I did lose my mucus plug this morning.
Any positive induction stories? Is pitocin really that bad? What form of induction did you use and why? Trying to not worry so much, could really use some words of encouragement.

I had a c-section so can't speak on the above questions, but good luck, you'll do great!!

I just had an induction two weeks ago & was terrified; so badly wanted to go into labor naturally but just didn’t happen. I truthfully had an amazing experience!! I started with a foley balloon, they sent me home, my water broke and then I returned to start Pitocin! The contractions with Pitocin are painful but I have nothing to compare it to as this is my first child, you can also ask them to kind of slow roll the Pitocin ( which I asked for) we increased in increments of 2 instead of 4 so I could mentally prepare. Once you feel you’re at your limit with pain if you’re using l medication ask for the epidural! Once I had the epidural it was really chill ! Wishing you and bay a happy and safe delivery! You got this mamma!

I had pitocin after I went into labor at 38wks 2days and was only 4cm for like two hours they decided to induce me around 2am my water broke an hour later and I had my baby at 5am. One thing though I went natural no pain meds whatsoever n it hurt like hell the labor pains 10x worst, try as much as possible to control your breathing. I had my husband squeeze my hands so tight so I could redirect the pain

I had an induction, it went really well! I was very nervous at first, my nurses really help me. The worst part was the foley Cather that squeezes your cervix; that was very painful. It will cause contractions and you’ll be cramping the whole time and you won’t get a break like you would with normal labor. Otherwise Pitocin was not that scary/ painful. Know that if you get the epidural you still might experience the ring of fire. You really do “forget” once your baby is in you

I was induced a little over 3 weeks ago, I had a great experience! They started me on a cervix-thinning medication first, and then started me on Pitocin the next morning, broke my water, I labored without an epidural for a few hours, then I got one, and had my little girl a couple hours later! Contractions were painful but manageable, I just knew I would need the epidural by the end! Things do get intense, but it was great! You’re going to do amazing!

I feel you. I wanted a natural labor at a birth center and wound up needing to be induced at 41+1 at a hospital.
They used cytotec to help me dilate. I tried IV pain meds in early labor (because it was 1am and I wanted to sleep before the intensity picked up), but they made me hallucinate and I did not like it. I also tried nitrous oxide during active labor, but the breathing thing kept collapsing my nasal passages and I couldn’t take a deep breath.
I ended up going through transition and pushing with zero pain intervention. My labor did stall out around 8cm and they had to break my water, which I wasn’t happy about. But it helped things progress
The pitocin contraction pain was excruciatingly intense…but my aversion to needles is stronger. So I did it without an epidural. It can be done!
I used a tens unit, a peanut ball, a hot shower, and squeezing a spiked ball in my hand to get through it. And having the right people. My sister-in-law kept me going when I wanted to give up.
