12 month review

So I got the questionnaire for the 12 month review for my little one who will be 1 next week. But after reading some of it. She doesn’t do some stuff and it’s making me panic now. Like she doesn’t pull to stand yet and is still a bit wobbly when standing while holding onto my finger.
She crawls, and sits up and is very active. Babbles mama baba wow.
But it’s just making me concerned now. Her review is end of May so I know she may develop by then.

My daughter will turn one on May 19. She doesn’t do everything that’s listed in the questionnaires yet

This is exactly why in my local authority they stopped the questionnaires and the review is just a conversation. If memory serves right (from when we had a 2y review for my first), a child isn't really supposed to do absolutely everything on the list, they'd be some sort of prodigy if they did! The questionnaire is designed as a tool to give you an idea on how your child is developing in different areas (gross motor skills, fine motor skills, communication etc) but it's not a test that they can pass or fail! Xx

My baby (1 next week, we had the review 2 weeks ago) has only now started to pull himself up (barely), crawls everywhere, has forgotten how to roll and can't sit himself up from lying down. He's perfectly in the average of what they can or cannot do at this age. There was no questionnaire, just a chat, and she was very happy with his development. She said that they all develop different skills at different speeds but by age 2 they all level up. Don't worry

mine was just a casual chat. my HV told me that it’s more of a 9-15month milestone check and there isn’t a concern if certain things haven’t been done yet!

Don't stress about it. It's just to see where they are, not a test they need to pass.

Every child is different and develop at different rates etc and 1 is still very early to be doing everything that is listed all the time etc. One baby may have a few words learnt by 1.. another may not really make much sense but can walk. They are all different and do things different, different orders etc.

Please don't stress 🙏🏻

Sleep consultants- are they actually worth it?

For anyone who has had a sleep consultant to help with your babies sleep, I want honest opinions are they actually worth it, or are they a waste of money? I’ve seen that it works for some mamas but then not so much for others but I am really at a loss where to go next and what to do. My 14 month old has never been a great sleeper and if anything we are just constantly going backwards rather than forwards and it’s honestly killing me. It’s affecting my mental/work/physical health. I’m a single mum too so I’m the one who’s surviving on constant broken sleep.

I don’t want to do any harsh methods like cry it out or the Ferber method, so do I get a sleep consultant? I’d love to hear other people’s stories who’s had one and did it honestly help them?

20 month old holding pee overnight

The last 3-4 days I have woken up to bone dry nappies. I have consciously been trying to get her to consume more water and she is acting herself so I don’t have a feeling anything is “wrong”, she has also been having wet nappies in the day. Is this normal for this age?

Is a rockit worth it?

Baby will immediately wake up as soon as I stop walking/moving the pram. Does the rockit really work? Just want some opinions as they’re so expensive!

I’m not ok…

I’m one week postpartum and I’m not ok.
I’ve been crying for days now.
I have so much on my plate rn.
I’m just mentally not ok. I wanna do what’s best for my boys but it seems like to everyone else I’m not doing enough. I feel guilty cuz my twins are in NICU. I’m on leave from my job with no pay. I know my house is a mess since I was in the hospital for almost 3 months. Trying to find somewhere to live to as there is no space in my apartment anymore. Trying to find a work from home job so I can be with my babies. I also have BPD which is not helping at all…
I just…
I’m just not ok and just keep it to myself.

In the trenches right now!

Omg post C-section is so hard. I’m 2 weeks PP.
My 4yo is being utterly unbearable the last few days, hubby is off work for a while so able to entertain him but he’s also doing shopping, cleaning and helping me & baby.

I’m breastfeeding constantly. Trying to take it easy and recover whilst running on 3/4 hours sleep 🙈 it’s just all too much. My 4yo just keeps having meltdowns , screaming and crying at the slightest thing upsetting baby when she’s asleep and acting really spoilt. He’s not listening to much & I’m annoyed I can’t do more, the house is a total mess, laundry up to our eyeballs, not much outside help as we live over an hour away from family. When does it get easier!?
