Any advice for a mum who has a VERY (physically and emotionally) attached baby? She will only sleep if I put her to sleep. She will only eat if I feed her (she’s bottle fed). And she will only stop crying when I comfort her. She also has now started crying when I’m out of sight.
We have tried increasing her time with Dad when he’s at home and letting him be the one that settles her, but she starts hyperventilating and it’s very difficult to not comfort her. He has also been wearing my hoodies so he smells like me. I just don’t know what else to do now.
Does anyone have any advice because she’s starting nursery in 3 months and I’m dreading it now 🫠

Has she always been like that, or is it just the start of the separation anxiety phase? My daughter got it BAD and we're at 11 months and only now is she showing small signs of coming out of it. For me, it was just a phase I put up with, as difficult as it was. Sorry, I know that doesn't help :(

I have no advice but following incase anyone does! My baby is exactly the same its so challenging!

My son had the most HORRIFIC separation anxiety pretty much from a newborn up until about 14 months, he was hysterical if I was 3 inches away from him, if I walked from one side of the room to another he’d scream, in the night we would co sleep and he would wake the minute he wasn’t pressing up against me. It was so suffocating and so so hard, I was DREADING going back to work when he was 11 months, but it gradually got better, he’s still a super needy mummy boy but it’s thousands better than it was! Even tho it seems pointless make sure dad keeps trying his best, because the efforts will pay off eventually. My son is now obsessed with his dad, and at one point would cry if he even looked at him ahahah!!! It’ll get better with age I promise xxx

I think its just about baby steps. Initially make sure dad has her when shes happy and content...when shes sleepy or sad she'll rely on you more. This will give her time to enjoy with dad. Can dad also maybe do a spoonfeed if not a bottle (assuming she's weaning)?

Also health visitor told me to play peek a boo and do it from other rooms for a couple of minutes. Make you leaving fun and gradually build it up
