Little hospital scare at 30 weeks

Sorry about the long post... FTM at 30 weeks +5 days! I came in to hospital 3 days ago after light bleeding overnight. It seemed like brown discharge mostly but I wasn't sure if I missed anything overnight.
They did CTG, speculum and cervix scan, baby was all good, I had a tiny bit of fresh blood in my cervix but cervix seemed stable and closed.
They kept me in for monitoring and been here for the last 3 days due to the tiniest amounts of fresh blood appearing every 8-10 hours. There's no heavy bleeding, pads are not soaked through at all, but i need to have 24 hours with no fresh blood. They also ordered a growth scan to check on him and placenta. All good, besides the fact he's slightly on the bigger side, so now i've been referred to a sugar test to check pregnancy diabetes. All in all, they have not been able to tell what has caused the bleeding. I had a cervical polyp at 14 weeks but they didn't seem to mention it this time. Going home tomorrow but it's been a little stressful and my brain is finding it difficult to process the 'unknown reason' ... even though he's doing good and all tests have come back good as well.

Anyone experienced anything similar?

Ps - I am beyond grateful for all the midwives and OBs looking after me for the past few days in St Thomas 🥹

Hello, I have just been through similar. I had three bleeds resulting in Hospital stays from 28 weeks. The first was brown blood. I was monitored and kept in and after a few days when the bleeding reduced I would be sent home. I had a growth scan because my baby was measuring big in 97th centile but they told me I had less than 1% chance of going into labour in the next week and sent me home. They said they couldn’t see a reason for the bleeding on the scans. I did have anterior placenta and it was originally very low but they said it moved up. I went into labour three days after the growth scan and had placenta abruption and emergency c-section. My baby was born at 31 weeks and was in neonatal for 6 weeks. I was also told I had a short cervix but at the time I didn’t know this can cause early labour so this was also working against me. I hope all goes well for you, they told me it was rare that I delivered this early and I think I was very unlucky xx

Hello , no problem at all :) I understand how worrying it feels to have a bleed. In my case, a couple of times I had a bit of pain the day before, but the other times there was no pain at all. My bleeds were bright red and looked like a lot, but when they monitored me everything was completely fine and I wasn’t in any pain during that time.
The doctors told me that many women have a one-off bleed in pregnancy and it often isn’t something serious, which really helped me feel calmer. My pregnancy happened to be uncomfortable from quite early on, so they kept a closer eye on me just to be safe.

They also offered steroid shots and a magnesium drip for his brain and lungs incase he was early x
