GD and birth

I got diagnosed with GD for my 2nd pregnancy at 24 weeks. Iv tried to keep diet controlled as much as possible (it has been a challenge alongside the walks) but the fasting sugar doesn't come down. Also started metformin and maybe insulin if it still doesnt go down. Im 27 weeks now and I keep reading about alot of people having to give birth early. Please share what your experience has been with GD and early birth, also possible jaundice with the baby?

Hi, I have one month baby. I got diagnosed with GD and I was taking insulin and was well controlled. I gave birth on 39 weeks and baby had jaundice so had to be under the lamp before we got discharged. No any issues with sugar readings for both me and baby.

I also got diagnosed with GD on my second and like you it was my fasting numbers that were the problem. My numbers were great after eating but I couldn't get fasting under control so moved the metformin and then insulin (still didn't work)

I was induced at 38 weeks but had been in slow labour for a week as she kept trying to come but the excess fluid from the GD was pushing her back. It was a very good, relaxed and quick induction. She arrived within 2hrs of my waters being broken and was perfect

I managed to stay diet controlled and was induced at 39 weeks and very luckily was still able to have my water birth

I was metformin for all 3 of my pregnancies. Baby 1 born at 37+6, baby 2 born at 38 and baby 3 born at 35+5. None of them had jaundice. All were over 9lb at birth. Baby 3 was only soo early due to preeclampsia. All c section babies if that makes any difference. Only baby which needed sugar help was my middle. The others were okay to my knowledge

Pregnant after 2 missed periods!!!

For context: My last cycle was Feb. 12th. I had a blood test on March 25th it was negative. On Mother’s Day I went to the ER for chest pain. The doctor comes in and says “ congratulations you’re pregnant!”. I didn’t believe her so she did an ultrasound. This is my 3rd and has never happened to me. I struggle with fertility, as I have PCOS now called PEMS.

Has this happened to anyone else? No cycle and ended up pregnant?

Who should be next?

I booked a nail appointment for 10am. Walked in at 9.50am behind another lady who didn't have an appointment. The 5 technicians were already busy. When one was finished, the lady without the appointment was sat before me. Surely if you have an appointment you should be next?
I ended up waiting until 10.25 before I was sat in a chair.
I know it's not first world problems, but who should be sat first? 😂

Body scans at airports while pregnant

I’m travelling tomorrow and I know I’ll have to go through a body scanner. But I don’t feel comfortable doing that specially in my very early pregnancy. When I was 8 months pregnant with my first I asked to opt out but they kinda refused and said it’s safe and that I will get more radiation from the plane.
What are your thoughts? Did you go through them or asked to opt out?
