Im a first time mom and I still have months to go but I like to know what to expect. Any tips to get myself prepared for the whole birthing process or anything to make it “easier”?

I have not read it yet, but if I was expecting again the top book on my list would be “Birth Vibes” by Jen Hamilton who’s a labor and delivery nurse. She’s so funny and so real.

expect anything. be prepared for everything. learn breathing exercises when look up c section recovery and be prepared for that just in case. I was wanting natural and all that but ended up having a c section. The best thing I can tell you is prepare for every outcome mentally. it's always a possibility that it will have to happen

Be open minded to everything! Hopefully you have a dream birth but accepting that anything else might happen deffo helps and doesn’t put loads of stress on!!! X

Be mentally prepared. Don’t hesitate to inform your nurses on your do’s and dont’s. You got this!

I am a list maker so I made a list of things to pack for the hospital for my first and have just adjusted it for this baby. I used a birth plan template for my first which I liked bc it asked questions that helped me think of my preferences. With my first i also read What to Expect When Expecting, went to my hospital birthing class, did the hospital tour, and did other research. I also like the pregnancy apps bc they have articles and tools to help prepare. I use Pregnancy +, Ovia, and What to Expect. Keep in mind a birth plan is more your preferences and be open to anything happening. You are also allowed to edit your birth plan as you go and also unless a true emergency asking questions is allowed. I feel some of my nurses the first time around were annoyed with my questions but most were not that the ones that were i just kept in mind they are paid to be helping me, supporting me, and were not the ones pushing a 7+lb object out their who ha.

Invest in a doula or a comprehensive childbirth education (not the classes offered by hospitals, they barely teach anything).
