My waters broke at 29 weeks which was 2 weeks ago rough now I went into labour and put down in the labour ward and was contracting the day my waters broke they eventually calm down and I got sent up to award to be looked after then later on be sent home I then came back into hospital three days ago due to signs of infection as I was dizzy and headache, high temperature abdominal pain, reduced movements and severe chest pain and shortness of breath I’ve come in and I have no sign of infection apparently but my infection markers had risen but still in the safe zone. Then going back into the labour ward last night with contractions really close together and ended up losing quite a bit of blood which has now stopped contractions have slowed down but still there what is everyone’s experience with Early labour or possibility of having a premature? I feel like my body has failed me this pregnancy. Should I be worried

That sounds very scary for you both,....are they considering delivering the baby at all? Wishing you all the best !

I’ve not experienced this but I did have a infection postpartum with my infection markers raised but they didn’t know where the infection was or what caused it. My temperature was really high and couldn’t be controlled with paracetamol at all. I was on IV antibiotics for 3 days at the hospital where 4-6 hours as they were also treating me for sepsis just incase.
Have they talked about getting baby out sooner is your waters have gone 2 weeks ago and you’ve been contracting and bleeding? Have they put you on antibiotics?x

I went into preterm with my first at 28 weeks was injected with steroids to blow up her lungs, and given a drip to slow or stop contractions ... I was then monitored every so many weeks.. I ended up with pre eclampsia and induced at 38 weeks xx

my sisters waters broke early, they sent her home and didn’t do anything for her, she delivered her daughter i think 2 weeks later and she had to be taken to the PICU because she had sepsis and they were both in hospital for weeks.
If you think something is wrong stand up for yourself and demand they do every single test and check they can. you know your body and you know when something is wrong.
it might turn out everything is fine and you can hold off a few weeks and deliver baby safely but if you are not comfortable with what they’re saying and doing then advocate for yourself, they have to listen

Please keep pushing. I can’t relate to the early labour however I did have high infection makers after birth and they didn’t know where the infection was coming from went on antibiotics and naturally pain meds because of c-section however I ended up having cold sepsis (so no temperature) and having to be hospitalised again for a week.

I just wanted to reassure you that I had a very similar experience. My waters broke unexpectedly at 26+4 and I stayed pregnant for another 5 days before needing an emergency c section at 27+3. Initially I also didn’t seem “obviously” infected or severely unwell I mostly just felt under the weather and tired.
Over those few days my inflammatory markers started rising and baby began having recurrent decelerations which led to delivery. Afterwards my placenta histology confirmed acute chorioamnionitis (infection/inflammation of the membranes).
The blood tests that suggested infection/inflammation for me were:
raised CRP (mine rose from 49 to 117)
raised white blood cells/WCC (21.6)
raised neutrophils (17.7)
urine culture growing E. coli bacteria
Please advocate for yourself if you don’t feel right. Ask for monitoring, a scan, ask for repeat bloods, ask them to monitor baby closely. You know your body best and it’s always okay to speak up if something feels off.
