I was offered a glucose test in my first pregnancy with my 17 month old, but wasn’t offered one this time round apparently due to my ethnicity being black African which isn’t in the ethnic groups at risk of GD. I thought they were routinely offered to everyone? Anyone told they don’t need a glucose test too by midwives at Liverpool women’s?
(Don’t get me wrong I absolutely hate the test and glad I don’t have to sit it but just need to know I’m not the only one who hasn’t been offered it😭)

Not from Liverpool but it's not openly offered to anyone it's only usually if you have direct family (mum/dad) that have it if you were offered before ask why you havnt this time round and just decline if you wouldn't like it☺️

in the midlands but i wasn't offered one. i was told there are a couple risk factors they screen for (as Brianna said like family history), combined with urine/blood sample results and the concern for me having it was low so i didn't need to do the test. ask why if you're concerned but maybe your test results are in a different band this time, or they aren't concerned because you didn't have GD in the first pregnancy, so these have tipped you out of the risk category 🙂

Not routinely offered in my hospital. Never had one with my first or my second, but with my second she was measuring 100 centile from 28 weeks so got put straight on the glucose finger pricking testing after that, never had the drink.

I only have one child and in Los Angeles they offered it to me and my sister has three children and she lives in California as well in San Bernardino CA and she got it all three times as well as most of my friend ls that have children.

Hmm haven’t heard that before maybe it’s different in Scotland. My friend is all black african and got GD she ended up having her baby by c section at 37 weeks. The day I took mine there was another african lady next to me in the waiting area that was also was taking it. May be different in England
