My husband slipped down the stairs while holding my daughter last week so we took her to the doctor to be checked. She had a little rug burn on her forehead but was perfectly fine and her normal happy self. Because it was a last minute visit we didn’t see our regular doctor & this doctor checked her thoroughly… including the inside of her vagina.. I’m not wrong for being uncomfortable with this right? My daughter is 10 months old and this is the first doctor to do this and when I said “why hasn’t anyone else done this?” she goes “oh uh good question”..

She was probably trying to make sure there wasn't an accidental straddle injury down there after the fall, but if the only visible injury was on the head, then that is a little strange. She may just be going a bit too by the book in this instance

My pediatrician does this as well. At first I felt weird, but then I realized he also checks my son's penis and balls too. I think that your main pediatrician is supposed to do that, and maybe that's what she said "oh uh good question" because it's probably supposed to be standard.
But I totally understand this being something that makes you uncomfortable, it made me uncomfortable even for my son, but then I asked myself "Did he touch in a way that was inappropriate or was he just checking to make sure everything was okay"

That doctor was so accustomed to doing wellness checks and probably didn't think. They do that during wellness checks.
