Hospital bag!?

Help a girl out. I’m starting to gather bits for my hospital bag. I’ve found a few check lists online but no one really says how many of each you need. Does anyone have a checklist with amounts on?
Like the one big thing are we taking the little ready to use milk and if so how many?
Also is there anything that you are glad you took or wish you had?
Anything that was a waste of time and didn’t make it out the bag?

Plenty of big pants and big liners. I ended up having a c section so the witch Hazel foam etc wasn't needed but still needed the pads as you still bleed after c section, at least I did. Glad I took my slippers, wish I'd taken a dressing gown. I was in for 5 days due to complications so husband had to top up some bits. Also my baby was 9lbs 11oz so none of the newborn bits I took fit her so make sure you take a good selection of newborn and bigger sizes. I breastfeed my baby so can't comment on how many ready to use milks to take but the hospital tends to have some if you need 😊

Baby must eat every 3 hours and plan to stay in the hospital for atleast 2 days. The hospital has formula and donor milk in case. Essentials for me were robe, flip flops, extra baby wipes, deodorant, mouth wash, soap bar. Baby doesn’t need anything except an outfit to go home in.

Peri bottle and spritz for bits if you're planning a vaginal birth! Absolute life savers 😅

I took bottles of ready made formula for both of my babies births but didn't use them so I probably wouldn't bother with that unless your plan is to formula feed in which case it's much easier than powder for whilst you're in hospital 😊

I brought my pump and started pumping right away. It helped with my milk supply ( I overproduce now) and I could take little naps while hubby fed baby

Waters breaking

Hey girls! Has any one got experience of this? I woke up this morning and felt a small trickle down my leg as I walked to the bathroom. I’m 37+3 so not worried if it has gone but intrigued!

I’ll call triage but just wondering about others experiences.

People with multiple kids which month did you like giving birth ?

Hi mommies! So obviously this is just a funny topic, it’s really not that deep but just thoughts which cross my mind as we are thinking of growing our family. I’ve been wondering what I’d like to do differently next time and the only thing which has come up for me is to try not have another September baby.

Ok so my daughter is a September baby and apart from her being the oldest in her class when she’s older, which in my mind doesn’t always mean anything, I’ve really not enjoyed the month she’s was born it just felt really meh. It was a hot summer leading up to September and being heavily pregnant was utter crap. Once she was here going into the autumn/winter was heavy with a new baby, the dark nights felt really claustrophobic and definitely added to the night time scaries. When she started nursery after her first birthday she went straight into germ season (October) which was rough. I felt like she didn’t have time to build up any resilience. So yeah if I had my time again I think a nice March baby would be lovely. You’ve got spring starting with summer just on the horizon, lots of pram walks. By winter you’d be feeling healed, less shell shocked from being freshly pp and just ready to tackle the darker nights with a more slightly older baby.

Anyone care to add any thoughts? Maybe I’m wrong and maybe I haven’t thought of something? Remember it’s just for fun it’s not a competition of who has things harder.

How do you pronounce these?

So I have two names that people have said are a bit hard to pronounce at first glance. So I'm asking, how would *you* pronounce "Owelia" and "Sylvana"?

Infection inquiry

I am 11 days post c-section, I have pretty much stopped bleeding by this point but now I think I have a bladder infection, its a sudden feeling of pain and urge to pee all the time. I didn’t have this feeling at all until this evening and I have also noticed that i have swelling on right side of my incision that goes ablit half way across the top. Its a bit red and firm but not hot. This is my first surgery and I don't want to get worked up if its just normal healing swelling.....any advice will be greatly appreciated

Having second throughs on our chosen name…

We’re having a girl and have planned on naming her Orla.
My sister is also due a baby girl 12 weeks before us and has just announced her baby will be called Eala (pronounced Ay-la). I’m now worried that the two girls names would be very similar and should I rethink our previous choice?
