Waters breaking

Hey girls! Has any one got experience of this? I woke up this morning and felt a small trickle down my leg as I walked to the bathroom. I’m 37+3 so not worried if it has gone but intrigued!

I’ll call triage but just wondering about others experiences.

Yes it can be a trickle to start with which can then gradually leak for a period of time. They say to put a pad in to monitor how much you've leaked.

I've had both experiences, leaking and also the big splash!

Mine was a trickle with my daughter (now 7) and I didn’t realise at the time it was my waters.
Defo get checked if you think it may be.

I had a trickle and honestly I though my I was weeing myself. Waited a few days and it continued then went to get it checked and it turned it I was leaking amniotic fluid. My baby with a due date of 26th June 2026 was born on 12th May! The early rupture of membranes was not the only reason she ended up coming early, the initial plan was to try and get her to 37 weeks but she had other ideas!

Thanks all! Really appreciate the insight!! ❤️

Weight loss

I am almost 8 weeks postpartum from emergency c-section. I still have the “pouch” above my scar. I am walking at least an hour every day and eating healthy. Any tips to lose the pouch? I still have pain and can’t be physically active as I used to be..

Name help! (Is this a bad idea…)

If our baby is a boy we want to call him Maxim (Max) - my husband is Russian and it’s important for us to have a Russian name, our older son also has a Russian name. When I looked up the connotations of the name lots of Americans on Reddit were talking about it having connotations of a men’s magazine which I’d never heard of. Is that an association you’d make in the UK?

People with multiple kids which month did you like giving birth ?

Hi mommies! So obviously this is just a funny topic, it’s really not that deep but just thoughts which cross my mind as we are thinking of growing our family. I’ve been wondering what I’d like to do differently next time and the only thing which has come up for me is to try not have another September baby.

Ok so my daughter is a September baby and apart from her being the oldest in her class when she’s older, which in my mind doesn’t always mean anything, I’ve really not enjoyed the month she’s was born it just felt really meh. It was a hot summer leading up to September and being heavily pregnant was utter crap. Once she was here going into the autumn/winter was heavy with a new baby, the dark nights felt really claustrophobic and definitely added to the night time scaries. When she started nursery after her first birthday she went straight into germ season (October) which was rough. I felt like she didn’t have time to build up any resilience. So yeah if I had my time again I think a nice March baby would be lovely. You’ve got spring starting with summer just on the horizon, lots of pram walks. By winter you’d be feeling healed, less shell shocked from being freshly pp and just ready to tackle the darker nights with a more slightly older baby.

Anyone care to add any thoughts? Maybe I’m wrong and maybe I haven’t thought of something? Remember it’s just for fun it’s not a competition of who has things harder.

Induction - cooks balloon

Hey gals!

I’m due in for induction this weekend and I’m terrified. I had an awful induction with my firstborn, he was 42 weeks, lasted 4 days and the 6 pessaries I got over those 4 days done nothing but give me back to back contractions.

This time they’ve said due to how long my first took they want to try the cooks balloon this time..

Can I ask for pain relief ahead of this? I genuinely do not see myself coping with the pain of having this inserted …

Infection inquiry

I am 11 days post c-section, I have pretty much stopped bleeding by this point but now I think I have a bladder infection, its a sudden feeling of pain and urge to pee all the time. I didn’t have this feeling at all until this evening and I have also noticed that i have swelling on right side of my incision that goes ablit half way across the top. Its a bit red and firm but not hot. This is my first surgery and I don't want to get worked up if its just normal healing swelling.....any advice will be greatly appreciated
