They are Velcro because they lived inside of you and the outside world is bright loud and scary especially when they canāt help themselves at all or hold their own head up. My children still love being close to me but are fine doing their own thing around 1

At 2 weeks.... velcro is the name of the game mama.

That's not a velcro baby..That's a baby, who lived inside you for 9 months. It doesn't understand anything different. My 6MO still wants to be carried around and contact naps. Sure he's always been happy with dad (bar developmental peaks). But it's still me he wants as he's EBF.

Girl, thatās just a newborn. He/she have been inside you for 9months and your smell and voice is all they know. My girl is 7 weeks and I can put her down sometimes, but she still prefers me over her dad

Till 6 months they still think they are a part of you. You are their comfort you are their home. All they know is you. Most likely with time this will change as they get more independent. Enjoy the baby snuggles. They grow up too fast. For me around 2 months it got easier

They're not a velcro baby. That's just a baby. They're designed to want to be near you. It's biologically and evolutionarily normal behaviour
