Wondering the pros/cons here? I think I would like to not put the dad’s name on the certificate.

I didn’t put mine on there. He didn’t even know I registered her tbh. He wanted to be on it but because of what he was like in the relationship etc I chose not to do it. Xx

Nope. He has nothing to do with her, never known her. Literally 0 point to it

I didn't want to but I was pushed to by gov agency, I live in Australia. It escalated his behavior he rang my mother demanding to change the name. He did eventually sign it. I've since had to ask for exemption for child support as I'm worried he will escalate again or use the fact he's paying as a way to try to find a way back into our lives.

Nope, I didn't want him on it. He wasn't around anyway and I asked the hospital to be "unpublished" so no one knew I was even at the hospital other than my two best friends and my dad. The pros outweigh the cons IMO. If he ever wants to be in his daughter's life he will have to get a court ordered paternity test to prove he is the father and then try to pursue visitation/custody whatever he would want. But for me he wasn't around since about 5 mo pregnant and doesn't even know when my daughter was born nor did he ask any questions of the sort so really I'm in a good spot if he ever wanted to claim her as his. He abandoned her long before she was born.
Ultimately it is your decision. I would look up the father's rights postpartum in the state you live in. But if you'd like nothing to do with him and do not wish to pursue child support then him not being on the BC benefits you in keeping him away.

my son’s dad isn’t on there. if you’re on the fence, definitely don’t do it. if he’s on there he has 50% parental responsibility whereas if it’s just you on there you have 100%, so you can take little one abroad, move house, make decisions requiring little one’s medical needs etc without having to consult him first. all decisions and power fall down to you xxx

I did and wish I didn't. I didn't know I was being abused during that time.

I did with my 19 and 16 year old. They had his surname too. My 12 year old doesnt have dad as he couldnt get to the appointment 🙄 8 year old (same dad as 1e year old) has dad on there and they had his surname. They both requested i change it 🫣😂 then my youngest is left blank and has my name.
If I could do it all again they'd all be left blank and have my name. My children's Dads dont deserve the mention in the birth certificates

I wish I wouldn’t have lol

I think they need to be listed if you plan on pursuing child support. But I can’t think of any other reason to do it if you’re feeling strongly about not
