Induction at 39 weeks experience

Hii :) so I just found out at my appointment today that I’m getting induced in 2 weeks , and I wonder how the process went for anyone who was in my same shoes. Any tips or stories ?

Ask for the foley ballon and pitocin for induction I had an easy labor with my first because of this. Also start eating dates, walking, and take a labor supplement that has red raspberry leaf tea and evening primrose oil, I got mine from pink stork and it worked well!

Don’t do cytotec I’ve heard bad things with induction that use it!

I was induced with pitocin while I was already 4cm dilated. I received pitocin at 5pm. Got my water broken at 7/8pm, contractions started and received epidural right after. Was able to sleep until 11pm and I was at 1pcm. Baby was born at 11:30pm.

Induction was not planned. But leading up to eat I ate dates, drank raspberry leaf tea and okra water.

I was sent to the hospital at 38 weeks to get induced after an appointment I was only 1cm dilated at 9am. They gave me about three rounds of Cytotec my little guy came at noon the next day. I would suggest eating a good meal before going in and try bringing music, movies, or comfort items they helped me a lot to ground myself when the pain became a lot. Oh and feel free to ask if they have a snack section because popsicles come in handy when you can't eat much. Last thing, when I got to 8cm (active labor) I was starving and wanted pizza. The best advice I got from a nurse was just remember in active labor sometimes what goes down can come back up so I opted out of pizza and stuck with jello (thank goodness) because I was getting sick soon after eating the jello.

You are going to do great! You got this mama!!

Anyone not put the dad on the birth certificate?

Wondering the pros/cons here? I think I would like to not put the dad’s name on the certificate.

Anyone still undecided on names?

I am almost 30 weeks and we still are nowhere near choosing a name! We aren’t finding out the sex so it makes it even harder as we need to consider 2 names at this stage. I have always loved Joshua for a boy and Minnie for a girl but hubby totally disagrees 🙈🙈

Nausea help

Took a pregnancy test literally 2 days ago and it came back positive. For 1, is it too early to be this nauseous? I don’t remember it with my first two. And 2, what helped you with the early stages of nausea? I feel like I can barely do house chores right now without feeling sick

Fluid “leaking out” vs discharge

I’m currently 30 weeks and a few days pregnant, and I’m genuinely concerned that the increase of my discharge is NOT discharge. It’s super watery and if I move a certain way it’ll immediately come out and it’ll feel like I’m slowly peeing myself. I’ve heard stories of women not knowing that their water has broke because they thought it was just normal bodily fluid, but that they were told by doctors that it was actually their water slowly trickling out over a few days time. How the hell do you figure out the difference? I know it’s super early in my case, but you never know! Can you tell I’m a first time mom, lol
