Baby carriers

Can anyone recommend a baby carrier that works well with C-section? I’m due my c-section in 2 weeks and not really sure what’s the best way about things - carrier, sling… not going to get to a sling library before hand so would appreciate advice for a first time mum!

I have a wrap but didn't use it until a few weeks after my caesarean. That's not to say you wouldn't be able to wear it earlier, but I wanted to wait until I felt it wouldn't hurt me to wear baby. I'm a FTM and had an emergency caesarean though so if I was to have another baby and failed to have a VBAC again, not sure if I would try a wrap earlier for convenience

I used the baby bjorn mini after my c section because there’s no waist strap!

If you do plan on visiting a sling library at some point you could always send them a message now and ask for a recommendation, that way you could rent it now (they can send to you via post) and if it’s not perfect you can swap for another instead of having to spend out on one to own x

I also use a wrap. I started a week and a half after my c-section but I try to limit my time still and do only as much as I need to with him wrapped because I cannot set that boy down

Dummy or avoid?

My baby is 4 weeks and we haven’t introduced a dummy yet. Are there any drawbacks to doing this? It’s not a huge issue to avoid it for us but would probably help us stop some fussing and provide a bit of comfort. We are breastfeeding but it’s going well so far. Any thoughts welcome! Also wondering on sterilising them especially on the go how does everyone do this doesn’t it become a huge faff?

Bathtime backache

Hey all, what are we doing to save our poor backs during bath time?

I'm still waiting on the 6 week clear to take a bath so can't jump in with her. And even if I could, do I still have to have it shallow? I couldn't cope with the coldness!

I have an angel care bath and leaning over is taking its toll! Also if anyone has tips for strengthening back muscles I'll give those a try!

Recommendations on bottles for breast feeding and bottle feeding mumma’s

I’m expecting my first this year and I desperately want to both breast and bottle feed baby! I however have such a fear that once baby has bottle they won’t want to feed from breast.

Any recommendations of bottles that you have used successfully and still been able to get baby to bottle feed please let me know!x

Mom guilt

I’m having the worst mom guilt. My baby is 2 months and struggling to sleep at night because she is gassy. She is overly tired and sleepy. I can get her to sleep and I try to get to sleep but 45 minutes later she is up making disconfirmed sounds and she needs to burp. I get her to burp then she hungry all over again. So then the process starts ALL over again. I burp her thoroughly and give her gas relief medicine. And this process goes on till well after midnight and we started at 8:30. So I start to get frustrated and I’m tired and al I want to do is sleep. I try not to wake her dad but he wakes up to help because he can hear me getting frustrated. I try not to be which make me feel horrible but idk what to do anymore.
