Is a bouncy castle still a good idea for a 6 year old party?

Last time my bestie had a hall party for her 2 joint there was a bounce house but she also hired a reptile dude who showcased all his snakes and lizards etc and I was able to wrap a python around my neck! My other friend had a house party and out back was a butterfly enclosure, out front was a pony ride that walked up and down the path, and inside was a magician who pulled a rabbit out of a hat. Would they like reptiles? That’s a great idea. Kids were mesmerised

Bouncy castle or a DJ/entertainer like a magician or someone to host games.

My daughter went to a 5th birthday a little while ago but there were so many older children there and they had a disco, they all had glow sticks and the DJ did party games and they all LOVED it!

I’m going to do my daughter’s 6th birthday at a local gymnastics place!

Depends on where you live and your budget but the majority of my children's bday party invites (5&6 year olds) have been for a venue local to use that has a bouncy castle as a fixed feature and is the primary entertainment.
Recently one of the parties had an entertainer who did party games, magic and mini disco which was fun but I personally wouldn't pay out over £300 for the experience as a lot of the kids weren't bothered. They had to deflate the castle so the kids would engage at one point.
