He’s afraid to walk

My son just turned on yesterday and still is to scared to walk on his own. He’ll take 3-4 steps by himself then just plops down and crawls… how do I get him to not be scared to walk? Please I need help mamas!

My son was a year and some change before he even tried! We got him the flat top table that slides on the floor, that seemed to help with confidence. You’re doing great 💜

Do you have a pull to stand table for him and is he able to cruise along the couch?

Avatar

Same here but he won’t take steps without holding onto my fingers

He’s maybe took 2 steps by himself but that’s it

But he cruises around holding onto things

I used bright starts activity center when my lil was 5-6 months and she started walking pretty quickly. I think it helped build her leg muscles. She was soon pulling up on stuff and then trying to take steps.

My 4.5y started walking at 9m, got up to 10 steps, fell down & bumped his head & went back to club crawling instead. He finally started walking unassisted again a few days after his 1st birthday & somehow managed to lose all that sense of self preservation he had earned from that little bump. Personally, we just scooted furniture & toys he could hold onto closer together & laid rugs & crawling mats in ways to help him feel safe again. They’ll get there, the best thing we can do is give them a safe place to practice.

One thing I learned from working in the daycare field. Every kid is different and develop at their own pace. Don’t rush or compare

My daughter was the same way when she was by herself but when her friend came she’ll walk after him then we had to move and after we came to my sister house she just started walking mainly bc of her favorite person besides her dad is my niece or she’ll walk to our food and steal it

Honestly he’s going to take off before you know it. My son took his first steps just days after his first birthday and then he ran everywhere we would go

Totally normal! One of my daughters didn’t walk until she was 14 months old!

My boy turns one on the 26th and has been walking since about 10months. What I did was lots of practice walking soon as he showed interest and used a stand behind walker as well for him to build confidence

Breastfeeding constantly

Hello mums 👋 I'm a first time Mummy to my gorgeous boy Albie who is now 2 1/2 weeks old. I've been combination feeding so my husband can bottle feed when I get some sleep for the first part of the night however I have found that when breast feeding I am feeding constantly. He will fall asleep on the breast and despite all the usual attempts, he won't wake up. When I try and put him down or get my husband to take over, he will start screaming and rooting again. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experience of this and if it's normal?

Thanks in advance

Snoozeshade

I was wondering if anyone has used a snoozeshade for the pram. It’s meant to not create heat inside but want a better alternative than an umbrella.

Bedtime

Do you have a set bedtime? I try and start the routine of bath, story, feed and bed from about 9pm but don't know if this is too late. Wakes anytime between 3. 30-5 for a feed and then again at 6 and then wake for the day at 8.30. Only has 2-4 naps during the day - either following feed or when out for a walk

Hey mums,

What age did you stop using a camera/monitor to keep an eye on your little ones at night time?

Do you and your LO use fluoride toothpaste or fluoride-free toothpaste? Just curious what other moms are doing 😊
