Present for older sibling from the baby 👶🏼

I’m due 2 weeks tomorrow, and just wondered if anyone who’s having baby no.2 is getting a gift for their eldest child from the baby? And if so what are you getting? I feel like it would be a lovely thing to do, and my daughter would love it, I just don’t really know what to look for 🤣 so ideas are welcome ☺️

My daughter loves books so we got her one from the baby. It doesn’t really have any relevance to becoming a big sister but she’ll love it regardless 😊

I’m due in 3 weeks and I’m going to do this, I was just going put a little gift bag of goodies together like a colouring book some colours, sweets and maybe a small toy. Nothing too much just something. I’m also thinking of letting my eldest go shopping with me and get a present for her sister so when I give birth they have a present from each other xxx

We are, we got her 3 little gifts, a big sister book, a toy from her current interest (huntrix) and a kids friendly Polaroid camera so she can take pictures of memories with her baby sister. Oh we also got them both a matching teddy, one with big sister and one with little sister

I’m not don’t see the point tbh the boys got everything he needs and more so don’t need to add to that

Yes, a toy kitchen from marketplace! Something new and something I know will keep him entertained if I’m a little tired x

Yea, we actually got my son one of those walking toy dogs! He’s obsessed with dogs and so I figured he might like to walk it when we are out walking the baby, give him a sense of caring for something too.

Thank you girls, this is helpful ☺️💗

My First Years do a little koala teddy that can be personalised with name and has a mini koala that can also be personalised. I got the big one with my daughters name and mini one with baby's name and gave her this from baby as she's big sister 💕

Our son is 2.5 and we’ve got him a tonies box to keep him entertained for the first few weeks. Also a personalised book about being a big brother. We also took him to the toy shop to choose a teddy for the baby which he has called ‘Cheeky’ the dragon. He keeps getting it out of the bag everyday, excited to give it to the baby 🫶🏻

We got a doll. A friend got her a book about becoming a big sister so we’ll give her that also when baby’s here.

Not sure about it , was thinking about it but same as above said, my toddler has everything (it’s Eid tomorrow so she’s getting more stuff) and it’s kinda just their new reality and something they need to get used to 😂. She’s been excitedly helping me prepare for baby anyway, hanging his clothes on the laundry rack, helping me clean up her old baby equipment! Think we probably won’t bother

My LG picked out a personalised teddy for the baby with little sister on. Without her knowing we bought another one for her with big sister on to be a gift from baby 💖

I don’t have any other kids but I’ve got some toys for my dogs so they don’t feel left out 😊🐾🐾🐾

I’ve got my little girl a water table for the garden as I thought she’ll love it and it’ll keep her busy! Xx

Lack of patience

Is anybody else really struggling in this heat to have any patience? Like my mood is just switching in a second from 'I can do this' to 'why can't you just f***in go to sleep?!' I've spent half an hour trying to get my little one down for a nap, sweat dripping down me, their body heat and my body heat quite frankly overheating the pair of us, to then put them down and them open their eyes immediately and smile... It makes me want to scream and I'm really trying to hold it together as I don't want them seeing me like that but it gets me so wound up. I just want a cold shower 😭

Leaving baby during day/overnight

I saw a post on here recently where someone was saying they haven’t left their baby with anyone yet. I regularly have my parents or my partners parents have my baby for a morning or afternoon and I’ve already left him overnight twice - once for a wedding and once to go to a gig. I know I’m in a very lucky position to have both sets of grandparents live locally and that can help. But I wonder if it’s unusual that I’ve already left him a few times compared to other people?! Curious to know if anyone else has left their baby over night yet?

Why does my 12 week scan look so different from everyone else's?

I've seen so many posts from other ladies of their 12 week scan photos even asking for early gender guesses and I am feeling confused and deflated and a little sad that mine looks nothing like them, when we first went in for the 12 week scan (at the start of may) the baby was facing like head towards the front so sonographer couldn't get a crown to rump measurement, but I could see the baby's head, she said to drink some more and walk around and come back in half hour, so we did, and then baby was apparently upside down, she was able to get a measurement to date the pregnancy at 12 weeks 5 days (we were expecting 12 weeks 1 day but I know thats normal to be slightly out on calculations) but the baby didn't look much like a baby at all, so all the photos we got I can't even tell what im looking at, let alone if its a boy or girl, we can't even tell where the head is? The sonographer seemed fine with it and said everything looks good, we heard heartbeat and she was able to measure the fluid behind the neck so she could obviously tell which bit was where and didn't seem concerned, so I didn't think much of it, just expected this is what a 12 week scan looks like, but now I've seen soooo many on here that have me a bit worried about mine? Has anyone else had this? Looking for some reassurance, we've got a private gender scan on the 10th as we are now 15weeks 3 days today, hoping that will help reassure me and look more like I was expecting? Thanks

Induction

What are your induction stories? Were you able to deliver vaginally or without pain medication still?

This is my second pregnancy and I’m a little bit older now. With my first I was 19 and now I’m 25. I really wanted to experience a natural birth all around and go into spontaneous labor. We hired a doula, took birth classes, the whole 9.

I feel like making a birth plan was such a jinx. I am so uncomfortable at 40+4 and have an appointment to discuss inducing on Thursday but I’m scared this will result in a C-section or epidural.

I don’t think either make birth less special but I am in recovery and was hoping to stay far from pain meds if possible. Would love to hear your stories and experiences!
