My baby is struggling to pivot and crawl, I’m starting to think that maybe it is because he’s on carpet as he’s pivoting in his sleep all the time.
Has anyone else felt this way?
Would you recommend a play mat if so which one?

My 8 month old had been very close to crawling. I've always put him on carpet or a padded rug. A couple of days ago I took the playpen down and put him on the hardwood floor and he suddenly started crawling!! So it's a possibility it could be the flooring!

We have a foam play mat which we lay down on the carpet whilst our 5 month old plays. She is pivoting herself, pushing up onto her knees etc. She finds it a lot easier than the carpet. I also feel like it adds a little bit of protection if they are to fall

My little one loves this. We've got laminate flooring, so you can imagine the lack of movement due to lack of traction. Now, we have this mat, it's wipeable and I hoover it. Lovely and thick, so it's extra padding for and stumbles and bumps xx
