5am is still night!

My 18mo is walking at 5am without fail, sometimes closer to 4.30 and no chance of going back to sleep. She naps at 12.30ish at nursery for 1-1.5 hours and goes to bed at 7. Room is pitch black. I tried pushing bedtime later and she woke earlier… what should I do?

Bring bedtime earlier. Waking at 5 usually means overtired by bedtime (which would explain why a later bedtime meant waking earlier) and ideally it should be no more than about 13 hours after waking so if waking at 5 I'd be trying bed no later than 6.

Also I'd say nap is too late too.

Mines the same, anytime between 4.30am and 5am. I think it’s just her wake up time, especially now the sun is up by then. I’ve got black out blinds too but it doesn’t make a difference and weirdly the later I push bedtime the earlier she wakes!

I just try and get to be by 9.30pm so I can be less of a zombie when she wakes up.

They might only need 10 hours of night time sleep to function some babies do, I know the standard is around 12 hours try an earlier bed time for the 12 hours sleep and if that doesn’t work try a later bedtime and see if that helps them wake up later
