I love Matilda and think it would get shortened to Matti or Tilly rather than Madi!

I think Harriet and Henry would be ok though too. Maybe try shouting them a bit like you're calling them for dinner, and see how much of a tongue twister it feels!

What about Hattie as a nickname for Harriet?

if you think Henry & Harri sound similar, you could go with Harriet and use Hattie as a nickname - Henry & Hattie as siblings sound so cute together!

also, i have never heard Madi used as a nickname for Matilda. if you want to use a nickname, you could consider Mattie, Tillie, Millie etc. I love Henry & Tillie for siblings!

I love names that start with the same letter and think it flows nicely when they are similar. I do think Hattie is a cute nickname or even actual name too. I have an Oliver and when I was pregnant with my daughter I was desperate for Olivia. Everyone said it was too similar but I didn’t care. We sadly lost my husbands Gran so we ended up using her name instead Dotty (Dorothy) which I love but I’m gutted I didn’t get my Olivia lol xx

Absolutely would be so mad if as a girl my parents called me Harri, Hattie is way more feminine and soft. And doesn’t have a hairy man association with it.
