Elective c-section vs vaginal birth

I was pretty confident in my decision to have an elective c-section. I suffer from vaginismus, really struggle with vaginal exams and I’m terrified of instrumental delivery. But I had an appointment with an obstetrician yesterday and although she wasn’t judgy she was so heavily in favour of vaginal birth and really scared me about elective c-section particularly increasing risk of miscarriage and still born etc in future pregnancy and the baby having to go into neonatal care risk being higher.
I’m not really sure what my question is - just feeling very overwhelmed and wondered if others have made this decision their reasons for it and how they feel confident in it.
Thank you all

I’ve had one vaginal delivery and two sections, personally I would chose vaginal 1000 times over but the key word is personally. What’s right for one person isn’t necessarily right for the next. More than happy to share my experiences with vaginal delivery and sections but honestly you shouldn’t need to be convinced either way. I have a friend who’s had two elective sections and thinks it was the most magical way to give birth and it was the best choice for her! I honestly wish I could do pregnancy one last time just to experience a vaginal birth again (even though the likelihood of a VBAC for me is very low) but that isn’t a good reason to have another baby haha. This is the first of many big decisions you’ll have to make for you and your little one and only you know the right answer for you 🤍

I had a vaginal first time which I wanted an elective for but was refused by my midwife in 2020, I knew I would have complications and I did severely. 2nd child born in Feb and chose elective due to past trauma and honestly was the best experience. I was petrified to give birth vaginal and always have been. I would chose an elective everytime and will do. It was so calming and relaxing and the recovery was amazing. Electives are completely different to emergencies and if that’s something you want the go for it x
