Nursery fees

Interested to know if anyone has got a nursery sorted and how much they’re paying for how many days… I’m in shock that it’ll cost us nearly £400 a month for 3x days WITH funded hours. Wtf!!!

Ours is going to be about the same for 2 days a week, relatively speaking and that excludes nappies and food!

It'll cost us about the same with 3 long/full days.
Well, I've got friends that had babies before the funded hours and remember exactly that used to cost them over a thousand pound for the same hours. Nothing fancy, just average nursery.
Their salaries, part-time by the time they had the babies, went nearly completely to childcare.
The only reason it made sense going back to work was to keep your job role if you wanted to preserve that and patiently had to wait for the funded hours that I believe didn't come in until 3 years old at the time.

I would say that's very good. Ours is way more in Bristol

Ours will cost 1577 for the first 3 months as the funding doesn't kick in till the term after which is January. Plus double trouble here that's for 4 days.....😭

I should add that there are nurseries out there that don’t charge the extras etc..and read an article recently that they are looking to crack down on the childcare charges - I believe it’s all under review at the moment.

Weaning

My little one is just over 6 months and we have been weaning for around a week now (just singular vegetables, porridge etc.)
I have looked online and it says that she should have 1-2 tablespoons a day however, if I give her that she is screaming at the bowl and spoon. I am having to distract her with a toy to take the bowl away.
When did you start upping the amount and frequency of food ?
I don't know if she is wanting more just because it is a new thing or if I should be giving her more.
I know food is just for fun at the moment so I don't want to over/under feed her.

Husband saw my vibrator

I messed up and am so embarrassed!!

I know most of you won’t relate to this, but my husband and I have been on an extended dry spell which I won’t go into but basically it’s on me. But I still masturbate occasionally because a mom’s gotta let out stress somehow.

Well I’ve been very good throughout this whole time of not letting it be known that I still masturbate, because my excuse for not having sex has always been that I’m just not in the mood and don’t want to be touched. But last night I messed up and left my vibrator out on the nightstand and I know my husband had to have seen it when he got home because he made our bed.

He didn’t say anything and neither did I but I felt mortified, and worried it hurt him to see that. 😭

Would you be mad

38wk pregnant and been preparing for baby to come any time now as my first came around this time & my doc said the same & been having cramping. Told my partner to chill on drinking at night just in case he needs to drive me to hospital & to drop off my son to grandparents. Tonight I woke up at 2am realized he wasn’t in bed and found him passed out drunk as sh*t on the ground in living room barely able to walk back to our room. It made me really upset because if i needed him in that moment I wouldn’t feel safe having him drive. He thinks I’m overreacting but I’m just really pissed.

Please help me out

Advice please!

My son will be turning 1 in January, and my husband and I are thinking about doing something low key for his birthday. We’ve found some really good deals on a 7 day cruise with a balcony cabin, and we’re seriously considering it.

What appeals to me is that everything is pretty much in one place. Food is included, there are lots of amenities, and if our little one gets tired, needs a nap, or starts crying, we can just head back to our room. It sounds a lot less stressful than constantly moving around from place to place.

To be honest, I’m getting a bit tired of busy European city breaks. They were great before we had a baby, but travelling feels very different now that we’re parents.

The only thing that’s making me second guess it is my mum’s concerns. She thinks it might not be a good idea to take a 1 year old on a cruise because what if he gets diarrhoea, vomiting, or has some kind of medical emergency? Her point is that we wouldn’t be able to get him to a hospital straight away if something happened.

So I’m genuinely looking for advice from parents who have cruised with young children. Would you go for it, or would you wait until they’re a bit older? Any experiences, good or bad, would be really appreciated!

Toddler in his emptying everything phase😩

My little boy will be 2 in September and for the last few weeks he’s had a sudden impulse to empty everything containing liquid🙃 cans, bottles, cups, the cats water bowl…and it’s driving me insane! Every day multiple times a day I’m having to clean the sofa or wipe the floor, almost broke my neck in the kitchen this morning!!

My question is, when does this phase end? I’m over it😑😑😑

Husband back to work - tips and experiences

Hey all!:) Next week my husband will return to work after being home with us for 3 weeks. It makes me nervous as he is currently handling part of the night with pumped milk. But He‘ll have to get up at 7 for work soon. Any experiences or tips on how to share the newborn care in this new chapter of life? Thank you!
