Does your baby sleep through the night?!

Am I the only one with a 7 month old who is consistently waking through the nights? I feel like our standard is waking through the night and instead of regressions we get like the odd random 3-5 days of good sleeping before she stops sleeping again.

Both my 2 year old and this baby wake consistently, my eldest woke way more though and still does once a night for a cuddle 😆 Not had a full nights sleep since around Dec 2023!

Hi, infant/toddler sleep coach here! The only true sleep regression is at 4 months old where there is a biological change to sleep. Any time after that sleep is usually disrupted by developmental progression, environmental factors or sleep habits. How is little one getting to sleep? Are they self settling or requiring a lot of assistance e.g rocking, shushing, falling asleep on you and then being transferred.

You could consider some gentle sleep training (you can find me on instagram @whisper.sleep.coach if you’d like some help with this) or equally you can choose to do nothing and ride it out - eventually your child will sleep (although you never know when this could be! And most who choose to ride it out find they won’t sleep through until age 2-3 years old)

Nope! Wakes frequently and doesn't like being transferred to crib so end up co sleeping but he still wakes 😅

I will add, night waking actually helps prevent SIDS. It’s biologically normal for babies to still be waking, us adults still wake a night but we’ve learnt how to connect sleep cycles so we don’t really remember. Sleep training isn’t recommended, the NHS even advise against it. Please be mindful who you’re getting sleep advise from x

What time do you mamas go to bed after putting your baby down?

Everyday I tell myself that I'm going to get into bed early - it hasn't happened since I had my baby.

My baby is 6 months now and he goes down between 7.3 - 8.3. By the time I come out the room usually 9ish.

I don't know where the time is but I'm getting really tired! I don't get into bed till 12/1am and then he's up for a feed.

I feel like I'm doing the cleaning, doing his bottles, getting things prepped so it's not even time for myself unless I have a shower. My husband is a workaholic so I am doing majority of it. There's no help.
I have to ask him to do things then it takes too long anyhow and I get it done

Witching hours

My newborn is 3 weeks old on Monday. She’s very sleepy, sleeps most of the day I’m waking her every 3 hours to feed. She’s now 9lb 7oz so midwife has said we can leave her to wake herself now. But the last few nights she’s been awake from around 6pm to 9pm where nothing settles her ?
Can I assume these are the witching hours? Tonight has been the worst and even an extra feed didn’t help !

Would rats take nappies out of a bin?

I'm so perplexed. I noticed today that round the side of my house there is a pile of nappies. There my child's nappies as I have 2 kids in nappies, and it was both their sizes and the brand I use. However I ALWAYS bag each nappy individually in a scented bag before I bin it. Our bins are in a communal area with everyone else's bins in the block.

I'm confused why someone would take the nappies out the bin and dump them at my house. I'm putting them in my own bin, and I'm doing everything I can to make sure they don't smell. But the bin area smells generally, that can't really be helped.

My kids dad thinks maybe its been rodents but I don't understand how they've taken so many nappies out the bins, out the bags, and then put them at my wall? When there's so many other houses in the block and so many other areas/crevices that would probably be more appealing for a rodent?

I don't really understand and I'm worried I've somehow upset someone but I always use my own bin and keep to myself.

Breastfeeding question… Is my baby eating less?

Baby boy is 4 weeks old now and I’ve noticed when we breastfeed he only stays on for 10-20 minutes max and seems satisfied after and then will be hungry again an hour and a half later. He use to nurse for about 40 minutes to an hour and now every other session is pretty short. If I try to latch him again or get him to eat more he will get fussy. Is he getting enough milk? Is something wrong with my flow? Or is he just more efficient at extracting milk? I miss our long sessions. 🥺😭
