Crying during feeds

Has anyone had any issues with their little one crying during feeds? My little boy is 7 weeks, and for the past 4 days or so, he’s started to scream cry mid feed - like he’s suddenly in pain. He’s always suffered a bit with gas and wind, but this has never impacted his feeding before. We’re currently trying infacol but it doesn’t seem to be making a difference. He’s also quite hard to burp so I do suspect some kind of wind, but if anyone else has experienced it and has any advice it would be much appreciated 🫶

This happened to us too! My boy is 8 weeks and it started about a week or two ago. He is also suffering with colic / afternoon fussiness.
For me the screaming was after he’d been feeding for a few minutes, which was odd as i initially thought it was fast let down, but that would impact him more at the start of the feed I think?

I read here another mom said it may be that they’re actually done feeding and looking for comfort when they suck and then gets shocked when milk comes. I think in my case it is generally when he is overstimulated toward the end of the day and I just take a break in feeding and change the position he’s in / bounce him around a bit to settle him and see when he is calm if he wants to feed more. It has improved a lot over the last few days! Good luck!! 🤞🏼

My little girl has been the same the last few days. My health visitor said its a growth spurt round the 7 to 8 weeks. Today has been better lots of cuddles after her feed and she is fine. Also I offered her a dummy for comfort and that helps

My son hated feedings most the time and cried and screamed and wiggled all the time! Now hes 11 weeks and doing a million times better barely ever does it anymore

I would say trapped wind but there also could be something causing it like an allergy to something you’re eating which can make it worse and harder to relieve x

Partner who sleeps through EVERYTHING

I'm planning a C-section. I'm not too worried about recovery as I've had 1 major and 6 minor surgeries before, I feel like I understand the severity of recovery, but my only real worry is looking after a baby while recovering. My partner is SUCH a heavy sleeper (and snorer!), and I am worried he won't wake up to help me the first few days when I'll need it most.
I was planning on putting a small single bed in the nursery so whichever one of us is on "shift" that night can get up with the baby but I know that's going to end up being me every night.
If I put the baby in our bedroom , I'm worried the snoring will wake it up, and my husband will still sleep through all the crying or me asking for help.
I'm a very light sleeper, I have slept with ear plugs in pretty much our entire relationship because of his snoring, sometimes I sleep in the spare room and I have to get up and wake him up because his alarm for work is going off and he's snoring/sleeping through it.

I've always wanted a c section for personal reasons but his sleeping/snoring is the only reason I'm considering a vaginal birth now. But if it ends up being an emergency c section I'll be EVEN more tired.

My mum is unable to stay with us as she's disabled, and his mum can only come and stay with us for about a week because she's his dad's carer and doesn't want to leave him too long (they live abroad). I would rather she comes and stays once my partner goes back to work so I'm not alone straight away.

I've spoken to him about this and he insists he will get up when the baby cries but he doesn't even wake up when the house or fire alarms have gone off so I don't believe this.

I don't really know what I'm looking for as advice, but maybe just if someone has been in a similar situation with a heavy sleeping partner, how did they cope? Or was it a nightmare?

Sleep training

my daughter and I have co slept all have little life lol. She 16 months now I’d love to try n get her to sleep in her crib for at least half the night. I typically nurse her before bed and then she gts. but when I try to lay her down in the crib she immediately wakes up and cries. ( I lay her down after she falls asleep) Her crib is in a room with a bed that I’m able to sleep in just so that while she getting used to it I’m not far away and will help since she still nurses at night.
Idk what to do. The cry it out method doesn’t work for me because she will literally make herself sick crying for me and it seems to cause more stress than anything else for her.

Could it also be that I’m too short to actually get her in the crib I do have be on my tip toes and to lean over a significant amount??

Making bottles abroad

Hi, I have just had my baby but we are due to go to Tenerife when she will only be 5 months old. I am formula feeding so wondering if anyone knows the best way to make/sterilise bottles abroad.

We will have a fridge and I do also have rapid cool flasks.

Thanks
Stacie

Lose or gain weight?

Did breast feeding help you lose or gain weight? I hear people say that breast feeding helps you lose the baby weight faster but am having a hard time believing that.

I had my first baby at 19 and feel like in less than 2 weeks I was back to pre baby weight. I breastfed a little bit but I’m chalking that up to being young.

I’m now 25 and just had my son. Not expecting to be pre birth weight any time soon but I’m so hungry all the time! I’m worried it’s going to make me gain a bunch😭

Sleep change

My baby has just turned 3months. Her sleep has changed. She’s so active but asleep.

Her head thrashes side to side.
Legs up and down.
Squirming.
Spitting dummy out but then wants it so cries.
all this whilst still asleep!

She suffers reflux. Is this early 4month sleep regression?

Does your baby sleep through the night?!

Am I the only one with a 7 month old who is consistently waking through the nights? I feel like our standard is waking through the night and instead of regressions we get like the odd random 3-5 days of good sleeping before she stops sleeping again.
