FTM so have never done pregnancy before when’s normal to start trying to bring on labour I see so many mixed things !! I always thought you start trying to bring it on from 36weeks onwards but have been told by loads of family and friends that’s wrong and shouldnt try until 38weeks ?? What does everyone else think ?

Heya! I had my LG in jan 2025 and i remember i started prepping i suppose around 36 weeks. I drank raspberry leaf tea and pineapple juice and medjul dateswhuch are meant to help soften the cervix , i duno if it made any difference to me as i went into labour on my due daye and my LG was born 2 days later. I also did some curb walking and trying to get her into a better position on the ball but again im not sure how much it helped! I heard people saying having sex/eating spicy foods also helps! But at 36 weeks baby is still comfortable for a few more weeks so i wouldnt rush anything✨

I wouldn't try force it. I did nothing, my little one came 40+2

I don’t think there’s anything you can do to make it happen, I’m 40 weeks tomorrow, started drinking the tea at 36 weeks, ball and dates at 38 weeks, dog walks, sex as much as possible and nothing!
Baby is in a great position but cervix just isn’t dilated at all. Midwife said to keep doing the ball and just to rest x

I don’t think you should at all.

Honestly I’d suggest just trying yours hardest to go with the flow. You could start drinking the raspberry leaf tea and eating the dates and whatnot around 36 weeks but those won’t kickstart labor, they just help soften your cervix and stuff so it’s beneficial but not for labor per say. I did all the things and then some to try to get labor started basically with all three of my kids and honestly all it did was make my mood dwindle cause I kept expecting to go into labor.
Just try to rest and do things to make you happy and boost oxytocin
